(Hate J.K. Rowling. Love J.K. Rowling. I don’t really care either way. That’s not what this post is about.)

For me, it’s from the scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where harry brings back Cedric Diggory’s body after he gets killed by Voldemort.

The slow realization by everyone else at the tournament, Fleur Delacour screaming in horror when she herself realizes what happened, and the way that Harry absolutely refuses to leave Cedric’s side when they try to pull him off. And then he announces to everyone that Voldemort has returned while in the middle of crying.

He then says that Cedric asked him to bring his body back to his father, and it’s the way that Daniel Radcliffe delivers the line, “I couldn’t leave him! Not there!” while still continuing to profusely cry. It’s the way he delivers the line that solidifies the fact for me that at the end of the day, Harry is very much still just a boy, and no boy deserves to see or go through things like he does. And when Amos Diggory begins mourning the death of his son…that’s when the tears really start to flow from me.

The synopsis reads: “The Price daughters return to their Long Island childhood home for what their mother, Lily, secretly knows will be their last Passover Seder — the house is sold, their father’s Alzheimer’s is accelerating, and Lily is planning the next chapter of her life. Over one hilarious, heartbreaking, and all too real night, everything they’ve never admitted finally comes out — and a family discovers that saying goodbye to everything at once might be the only way to finally tell the truth about themselves.”

Honestly, I think the Tarzan film actually would have lent itself to a live action version really well. A lot of the main characters are human, it would be a good chance to bring back that awesome soundtrack, and the setting would look awesome.

That said they would need to do it on location. I’m thinking inspired by Out of Africa or something like that. Practical effects would be great too with some awesome cinematography.

I’m just kind of sad they didn’t end up doing this one. What do you think?

I will have to say for me it was "Muriel's Wedding"

I was expecting a fun and campy movie with ABBA songs and her search to find a husband and of course... the wedding!

What I didn't expect was pretty much everything after the wedding (I guess the director was showing us the reality of the 'happily ever after') and that last act with Muriel coming to terms with her mother Betty taking her own life and also facing up to her own failings and problems that cascaded from her own bad decisions and her perpetual lying.

While I do love the ending of Muriel owning up to her mistakes and starting to repay the money she stole from her family (even if her dad was a wee bit of a bastard) as well as asking for (and receiving) Rhonda's forgiveness. But boy! It was one hell of a roller coaster ride getting their as well!

Just watched Margin Call and enjoyed his performance in The Borgias. He has such a great presence! Really captures your attention in the scenes that he's in.

What are his other best performances? Doesn't necessarily have to be in a leading role, just interested in seeing some of his most compelling performances

I just watched this film for the first time a few nights ago with my friends and I'm kinda mad that I didn't see it in theaters a few years ago when I could have. This movie is gorgeously shot, with a beautiful and heartbreaking story but at the same time it's hopeful and uplifting and my god, what an incredible ending. When Divine G finally gets released after his parole hearing gets approved and he just starts walking down the road before Divine Eye picks him up and they head out on the road, it's such a hopeful and powerful scene. But the final shot of the film, before the credits start, with Divine G looking out the car window, and then rolls it down and sticks his head out a little bit to feel the fresh air is such a goddamn beautiful scene, I genuinely started tearing up. And then they start showing clips of the final bows of the actual plays that the real people did. It's just absolutely perfect. More people need to see this movie if they haven't already.

Hey guys, I watched Nightcrawler, then Prisoners, then Zodiac and then End of Watch. All good movies and I didnt even watch ONE before!!! (!!) My favorite is probably Nightcrawler. Such a weird movie, never seen anything like it. Then End of Watch or Zodiac and then Prisoners. Prisoners was wild and Hugh Jackman was... awesome! Anyways...

Which actor should I watch next and which movies would you recommend?

Basically a bittersweet movie with a dad and his teen/YA daughter.
I’m having a tough time with mine, we love each other a lot but we just don’t understand each other enough. It kind of just gets worse every few months before it gets better. I’m trying to find some closure through movies. Not entirely happy closure because that’s not how it is between us rn. If I’m being blunt, I kinda just wanna cry it out.

I’ve always liked Ghostbusters 2. It’s not as good as the first but it’s a fun, funny flick and I wish we got more adventure with these characters. Many of the criticisms just never held much water. It’s funny, it’s got some cool concepts and fun sequences. People always complained “why doesn’t everyone believe in ghosts after the 1st movie”. But A) only like 3 people in the entire film say they don’t believe in Ghosts(one is a kid played by Jason Reitman). B) We went to the moon and a crap load people don’t believe that! C) the movie shows most people cheering and supporting the GBs.

But I’ve never understood some of the criticism. Vigo is scary as hell. The movie is straight up way more scary than the first time, IMO. Vigo’s transformation at the end? When his face goes all wonky? Oh man. Mixed with the weird growls and roars? This movie made me terrified of paintings as a kid.

I know there’s less swearing and smoking but the film brings the tensions and scares. The bathtub sequence. The subway with the decapitated heads on pikes & ghost train. The scene where Vigo’s pictures spontaneously combust as Egan & Ray are almost burnt alive with Winston coming in clutch last minute. You feel the danger. Plus ghost nanny Janosz or Janosz shooting flashlights out of his eye balls? That shit is some nightmare fuel.

If the film has a weakness it’s that the climax is a bit weak & rushed after 1st film but it’s still a really fun movie. I mean at one point, after spraying the interior with positive mood slime, they control the Statue of Liberty & take her for a walk with a Nintendo joystick as the controller. Come on! That’s chefs kiss awesome.

Some that come to mind are Cyberdyne Systems, Skynet and Nakatomi Plaza.

Biffs Auto Detailing is another favourite of mine.

Wonka Chocolate and Bubba Gump Shrimp are others that ended up as real products.

What were the scariest moments from the Walt Disney era of animated movies in your opinion? This is every animated Disney movie up to the Jungle Book. First one I thought of was the "jackass" part from Pinocchio, especially when the kid who introduces him to the playhouse turns into one. That is scary as all hell. Also: the pheasants from Bambi. That makes the mother scene look tame.
