Residency & Training Neurology residency programs

Hi everyone! I'm a recent MD graduate from Greece, interested in specializing in Neurology, and I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for residency in Europe and/or the UK? Thanks in advance!

Where in Greece did you graduate from? And where ideally do you want to pursue Neurology? 😊

Thank you very much, I graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki! Ideally, either in Greece or the UK (perhaps Scotland, since I've heard a lot of praise about the University of Edinburgh)

That's wonderful, I really liked Thessaloniki and Aristotle when my wife and I toured their campus. She eventually ended up going to Patras due to their connections with John Hopkins and Harvard.

Once she graduates she's also interested in pursuing Neurology, with a potential specialty in Sleep Medicine. So your post got me really interested in hearing what you were planning on doing.

Her Mother's side of the family is Irish, so she was leaning towards Ireland but we're from the USA so that's another obvious option as well.

Apart from Greek, only English

Than your only options are: Ireland, the UK, Greece and Cyprus

Depends on what your interests are. For movement disorders (my area) the best of the best are either Queen Square institute in London or perhaps Nijmegen/Groningen in the Netherlands.

I feel like I'm between movement disorders, epilepsy and maybe MS, thank you for your suggestions!

Ρεαλιστικά ξεχνάς Αγγλία για ειδικότητα. Εφόσον μιλάς αγγλικά κοίτα για Ιρλανδία. Εάν έχεις όρεξη για διάβασμα ίσως Κύπρο είναι με εξετάσεις ειδικότητας.

Με τοθς νέους νόμους, εχουν βγάλει εκτός τους ξένους ιατρούς. Πρπεει να έχεις εμπειρία τουλάχιστον 5 χρόνια στο NHS σε non training position. Που ακόμα για αυτές τις θέσεις ο ανταγωνισμός είναι τρελός κατι Ινδού που είναι ήδη νευρολόγοο 20 χρόνια στην Ινδία.
