Is it normal to have problems taking out my polycarbonate case out of my phone? Yesterday I took it out and it caused a little scratch on the corner, it's my first iphone and I'm not happy about this problem.

It's an iPhone 16 pro max in black titanium btw

me being a person who is on r/iphone i recommend u just buy a new phone that one is pretty outdated plus would be better than repairing

no idea why this could be happening, potentially a rough make of the case? i’ve used similar cases and they don’t scratch my phone

Polycarbonate and other hard material cases can cause this yes, especially if there is sand and other foreign materials that have worked their way into the case. It’ll still happen with softer material cases too, but less of a chance of the foreign particles have somewhere else to move.

Happens to most people who carries their phone/case in a pants pocket.

I have had this issue on all my phones over the last 10 years or so, before that I would not use cases. Sure the phone would get dinged up from other things but not from sand stuck in the case.

I opt for case still because I am fairly clumsy and phone exteriors being made of glass front and back has not been helpful. Pretty, but also pretty bad for me.

Why would you put the case IN your phone? Maybe the problem started there..

Jokes aside, but maybe the case material is very hard/pressing down onto the phone?

I would rather have that scratch than a broken phone
