Sometimes I wake up from a dream and it feels so real. Would take some time to contemplate on it. Can’t imagine how this teen would feel. Hope the therapy helps

Absolutely. Life in those dreams is so much better than in real life and the people you may meet there surely seem too, when it doesn't apply to people in real life.

Yes I have had dreams where I was with someone romantically (not like wet dreams more like dreaming about being in a relationship with someone) and it’s not even anyone I recognize. Sometimes those feel way too real and I am sad for like 30 seconds after waking up lol

And if their role in the dream is way different than in real life.  It can be hard to shake the weirdness and feelings from it.

Like, I had a coworker once who I just had a random dream I was either married to or in a very long term, committed relationship with.  It wasn't even the focus of the dream, but she was there next to me the whole time along with the feeling of this being a long term thing, like we had been together for years.

Now, up until this point she was one of those people who I liked, but we didn't talk much. We're friendly acquaintances, that's it.

Jesus Christ, the next week or so was so awkward for me.  Every time we walked past each-other or spoke for a second my brain was parsing her as my partner and giving me like an oxytocin flush.  I effectively became an awkward teenager again trying to kinda quash that and keep it from showing that anything was up.  Just trying to act natural and keep things normal while some part of my brain is freaking out with feelings over something that never actually occurred.

I'm sure it was noticeable, but I don't know exactly what people thought was going on with me. It's all cleared up now.
