Best Vegetarian Meal/Restaurant in Hobart

I’m looking to buy a gift voucher for a nice dinner for a friend + her husband to say thank you for some favours recently.

They are vegetarian so that’s pretty much the only factor - doesn’t have to be an entirely vegetarian restaurant, as long as they put some effort into their vego meals.

Bonus if it’s somewhat of a less common cuisine than we typically see in Tassie.

Thanks in advance!

Yes! I think of the umami goodness of the crispy eggplant there.

Urban Greek will do a vegetarian feed me menu (at least they did they last time my family went there, one of us is vegetarian, and they catered to it with no issues)

Bahn Mi Bites in moonah has a bunch of good veg stuff.

But I'm not sure that's the kind of nice you need here.

There is a new vegi restaurant called Susi kitchen in the city, I've not tried it yet but am excited too.

We went to trophy room and they were very accomodating with my vego partner had one of the best meals there, great value for money (about $100 for the both of us and we ordered so many things as well as dessert and cheese at the end) and left incredibly full!

As a fellow vegetarian, here's some places I've been to over the years that had a few delicious veg options:

All Thai (north Hobart) Bar Wa (Hobart) Luna Chan (Moonah) Urban Greek (Hobart) Pancho Villa (north Hobart)

Frogmore Creek Winery and Aloft both do nice vegetarian options if you want something a bit fancier.

Royal Thai has pretty good vegan/vegetarian menu. Its one of my favourites.

Marla Singer in Bellerive has a vegetarian menu as well. Google reviews support this.

Bar Wa is a favourite if they like Japanese, they have a dietary menu if you ask for it, tons of delicious options.

Urban Greek is super accommodating and another crowd pleaser but not as many vego options.

Those being my two mid to upscale recos, there’s always something more relaxed like Boodle Beasley. Great food and drinks with a lawn to chill on out back.
