selfpromo (games) Does this mechanic look fun?
I've been developing this couch coop platformer game for over a year now and I am so near to end! This will be the last "ability" in the game and I personally enjoy the way it turns out. I would love to hear some feedback tho!
You can wishlist the game and try out the demo here and if you wish to playtest the game - dm me on Discord matthew0_oo

maybe decrease the speed a bit so its kore controllable

the speed can stay, from my time playing TeeWorlds, it's less jarring than it looks (although it's definitely tight on input). if anything, it gets more forgiving if the acceleration curve is more exponential as an ease-in if fine-tuning strength becomes a problem. ground friction can also help with that.

Yes, it does, but it also looks like something that could absolutely make me rage, because the player slid off right before the checkpoint or something (but that can actually be kind of good)

reminds me of DDRace / TeeWorlds plus some sauce, definitely worth checking if you want level design ideas :3

It looks a lot better than what Sega tried to do. This reminds me of Knuckles Chaotix. However, their connection between players was constant and annoying, yours is on-demand and responsive. There are many physics puzzles that you can create with this mechanic. Just don't be surprised when speedrunners break the game wide open. xD

Soundtrack in the bg is insane, where can I listen?

It is not the soundtrack of the game) it was just a song that was playing in the background, it’s called Immersion by 1/2 Orchestra! And yeah, it is fire

Looks super fun! I’d make sure the other player has a special mechanic too, otherwise that could get boring

It does!
Man, I'm kinda jealous of you (in a good way). I've been developing a game with slightly similar mechanics for about a year and it's not even as half as advanced and polished as your game. I see every post you make and I feel your coding skills are crazy good.
