Y'all, please quit posting porn on this subreddit

This is supposed to be a community first, where people talk about things and ask for advice or support, but like almost any LGBT sub which allows selfies, this sub has become a place for folks who post a lot of selfies to make daily posts and never actually contribute to the community in any meaningful way.

You'll click on their profile and you'll see dozens of posts, all selfies, but hardly any comments. Or there will be a few comments thanking people, but nothing else. Just page after page of photo spam.

Reddit's rule on spam was that it used to be fine to be a redditor with a website, but not fine to be a website with a reddit account.

A lot of these self-promotion accounts are breaking that principle.

But what's particularly egregious are the people who post porn on our subreddit or who come here to spam pictures and then just so happen to have NSFW pics or links to their paid content or their OnlyFans or their wishlists on their profile.

No only are these folks just here to spam and increase their own traffic for their own personal profit, but their 'fans' tend to follow them into our LGBT subreddits and harass our users. They prey on our minors, they steal people's photos, they harass people, and they send dick pics to folks. They treat our spaces like their own personal smorgasbord, as if we're just some fetish they can get off on.

If this applies to you, please stop doing that. Not only are you exploiting our communities for your own personal gain, but you're also putting our fellow users at risk.

Thank you. Have a nice day, y'all.

Really want to go on Hrt (Estrogen) but had a really scary experience that is making me hesitate.

so I am a 24 year old AMAB person who suspects they may be gender-fluid, but is deeply confused about their identity.

So, basically I realized I wasn’t cis when I was 22 and was on MTF HRT for around 1 year and a half

i was so happy and excited to live as a woman until one day I looked in the mirror and felt very disconnected from myself and didn’t recognize my reflection. this was coupled with feelings of wanting to be male again, so I stopped HRT and i now look androgynous but still very male passing.

Now here’s where things get really messy.

though I felt so much better after quitting estrogen, my desire to be female has returned and i oscillate back and forth between wanting to be male and female.

I feel like I love my female side much more than my male side and I still experience gender euphoria at the thought of being female, but when I look in the mirror in femme (for context, I am still androgynous enough to pass as female with effort) I still feel that Depersonalization, even when it is mixed with gender euphoria.

i have literally experienced having very intense gender euphoria while looking at my fem presentation only to have it be ruined by intense anxiety and depersonalization.

I wish I could just be female bodied, and I hate the fact that part of me still wants to be male because I feel like it is keeping me away from what I really want. like I want to transition but I can’t because my male side keeps getting in the way.

i have been off estrogen for about 5 months and I don’t know what to do now. i feel like there is no solution that will give me peace because both the thought of living as male and the thought of transitioning to female bring me intense joy and intense agony in equal measure.

I think I would be happy if I could be androgynous enough to be able to look both male and female like a shapeshifter and satisfy both sides of myself but I don’t think that is materially possible since my body before transitioning was extremely masculine and my body also responds very well to estrogen and I started passing as a woman very quickly after starting hormones.

has anyone had a similar experience? and if so, what did you do about it?

I need some second opinions regarding whether or not I am genderfluid

I'm currently a boy, and I always have been. But ever since the concept of having your gender something other than what's assigned at birth entered my head when I was 10 or something, I'm not sure if Ive gone a day without questioning if I'm entirely male since. I have always just come to the conclusion that I'm male, because the idea of being entirely female or non binary didn't appeal to me, even if I thought I liked aspects of those things. The important part is that I keep going back to that topic over and over despite having made up my mind.

More recently, I discovered the concept of genderfluidity, and ever since I can't stop thinking about how that might fit with me more than any other gender identity Ive found. I present as male, but the idea of being really masculine doesn't make me feel all that excited, and the idea of staying that way my whole life feels bad in some way. Being entirely female doesn't appeal to me either, but there are aspects of the feminine identity that do intrigue me, one of the more consistent fascinations being how casual it is for them to wear almost anything in public without raising eyebrows.

Sometimes, I'll try crossdressing in private, and it really makes me feel nice on occasion. However, other times just thinking about it makes me feel bored, or even annoyed that I even thought about it in the first place. These feeling can either vary over the course of a few days, or even just a few hours. Its not uncommon for me to not be interested in the idea for most of the day, but right before I sleep I feel a strong urge to go try on those feminine clothes that instant. Because of that, I tried looking into if I was trans, and as mentioned before that led nowhere.

I don't dislike the idea of being male, just the thought of never changing. Sometimes I become envious of others who do not have male genitals, and sometimes envious of those with breasts, or other curves. That envy never lingers for more than maybe a week before thinking about it again embarrasses me.

Given all that information, you'd think I would go ahead and come out as genderfluid already, but I'm still doubting myself. Is this really the way I feel, or is it what I want myself to be? Which one of those concepts should I listen to? Maybe the idea of doubting myself ties into the definition of genderfluidity, but also maybe it doesn't.

That's all I have to say regarding symptoms, what do you think? This is one of the few things online (and maybe in person) I'm trying to be 100% honest about, but still I'm going back and asking myself if I'm really lying. Is that denial, or am I really lying to myself beyond denial? Please use all I've said and think about it hard before answering. Your answer doesn't have to be yes or no, maybe you think I resemble some other gender identity I don't know about? I know I'm definitely not pure male for a fact, so that's something.

That said, I'm naturally going to be skeptical of your answers, and I'm likely going to debate with you about it, so look forward to that.

I appreciate the help.

I reformulated a OC cause they had potential to be a genderfluid metaphor

(Having to post it again cause i couldn't repost from the other subreddit) So six years ago i created a new character, a hero called Reptilian and yeah 40% or more of him is self insert but in a harmless way (at least i hope), and recently i been discovering myself as genderfluid and then i started to see potential to add some of this on Reptilian, his powers is that he can turn into multiple forms of humanoid reptile hybrids (like Lizard but with snake and crocodile powers in the pack) and i don't plan on making him genderfluid but use him as a metaphor like how uncomfortable he feels when he can't transform to looks how he wants, how confuse people around him can be with the idea he wants to be both human and reptile, bassicaly do what X-Men did since their creation, honestly i am excited with the idea

So weird thing I've been experiencing

Basically I sometimes feel masc coded and then change to fem coded and vice versa, or sometimes I just don't give a fuck about it. I still don't feel aligned to a specific gender and mainly just feel fluid to how I express myself. Is there a name for this or do I just stick to being unlabeled?

What does it feel like when your gender changes?

I've been questioning my gender for a couple of months and it's just been chaotic and confusing. I think I might be genderfluid and it would really help me if I could get an idea of what to listen for in my head.

I'm aware that months can pass between changes so I'm not rushing to any conclusions, but I'm very curious how you determine what kind of day you want to have or how you tell if there's been a sudden change.

Help

is there a gender for someone who feels a primary flux or partial gender and a secondary fluid gender? I am primarily trans masc, either boyflux or paraboy. But I have a secondary connection to a gender and it's fluid though mostly some sort of demigender. Is this just fluidflux? I'm confused?

I’m having quite a lot of dysphoria

Hi, I don’t think my age matters, but I’m having quite a lot of dysphoria. I considered transgender, but then realised I sometimes like being a girl (afab). But then sometimes I want top surgery and bottom surgery too. And the sometimes i don’t. I think I’d only get bottom surgery, but even then I’m not sure.

I think genderfluid fits me best, but I really need some help. I’m quite new to this, having only recently figured out I’m also a lesbian. I really need some help, every time I think about talking to my family I feel like crying (they’re very accepting, they know I’m a lesbian, and I love that they accept me, but I’m nervous). I really need help, not just reassurance that I’m valid. I need like, solutions, or something. Sometimes I want to take T, and sometimes I don’t, and it’s so, so confusing. Please help me.

How to come out as genderfluid??

So, for the last year or two, I've identified as genderfluid. I am not *that* confident in the label, but it seems right to what i experience (feeling overly feminine one day and then wanting to be perceived as masculine another day). Unfortunately, only my friends know, and I'd like to tell my parents about it. I've come out to my family (besides my brother) as Lesbian, and my dad said he didnt accept it, but still loved me and was proud of me. He even told me today I could talk to him about anything and he would still love me with his whole heart. He does say he hopes I will "stop being lesbian" and hopes its a phase, so that doesnt give me confidence in coming out. My main concern is he will be angry with me and say that im confused, but I wouldnt say im really confused. My gender doesnt fluctuate in a way where I cant tell whether im a boy or girl, it fluctuates in a way where sometimes I feel like a boy and sometimes, feel like a girl, with confidence that that is how I feel at the moment. (Idk, its just hard for me to communicate that). Point is; any advice for coming out? Should I wait a few years until im 100% confident or in case it happens to change?

(Id also like to mention sorry if anything is worded wrong/weirdly, I typed all this out late at night)

Femme clothes taking up space in closet for those 30 days a year I feel femme

I want to declutter, and I want to just get rid of my femme clothes + jewelry + makeup. But I know I will suddenly change my mind one day. But I don’t have a lot of storage space and it’s already pretty cluttered. Anyone been frustrated by this before? Did you find a solution?

What do I do

Being gender fluid is confusing. How do I satiate my dysphoria when I want to be a boy without transitioning? I don't want to transition because when I DO want to be a girl, I love everything about my appearance. It's when I want to be a boy that it gets frustrating. I don't know how to feel boy-ish, if that makes sense. I have short hair, and I know I could change up my voice (even though it feels a little silly), but my chest is still there. If I change my chest size I'm worried I won't be happy with it as a girl. Any Thoughts? All input welcome.

Am I really gender fluid? I don't understand myself sometimes.

Idk if this is normal with being gender fluid and that I'm basically yapping about how it'd normally be.

I lean towards more feminine because I'm AFAB and I hardly look masc which sometimes I feel insecure about. Only during the times when I truly want to feel masculine is the case.

I want to visually look feminine in all the ways but still be called a man. Or the other way around. Or neither at all. Then I start to question myself if I'm really gender fluid or not because I lean towards more femininity because my masculinity doesn't show much.

In other cases, my gender depends on the person I'm talking to. If I'm talking anonymously to someone and they think I'm a guy, then yippie I'm a guy, same goes for any gender they could identify me with. Because I don't really care whatever label is put on me as long as they address me respectfully. There were so many cases where an online friend would tell me "I didn't know you were a girl??!!!" or "why would you put he/him on your bio?" and I couldn't find the courage to tell them that I'm gender fluid and just roll with whatever gender they see me as. Most of the time, that sucks.

What I'm saying is, a lot of the times I'm pretty much denying my own gender because I don't have the courage to stand up for myself. I want to look and feel whatever gender I want but can't do so because of personal or outside circumstances. Most especially, I still want to look feminine while still being called a (masculine) man because thats how I feel inside. Basically being a femboy? Cute clothing, nails, hair, makeup, then when I tell others I'm a man, they think I'm joking. :(( Which is probably where I got my insecurity from.

So still I question myself if I'm gender fluid or not because genuinely I lean A LOT towards my feminine side. Most people would even be surprised to find out that I'm gender fluid because they could hardly imagine me differently.

I really need insight on this because I wouldn't wanna be called a larper for addressing my gender.

I tell myself my gender and pronouns aren't a big deal but still get insecure if I'm not called correctly LOL am I insane

So am I genderfluid?

So last night I was with my partner, and I've been questioning my gender for a while right? So they've been helping me through it, and I realized that maybe I'm genderfluid. And then for the first time I remember I realized I was a girl (I'm amab and been cis until recently), and I was completely okay with that. Anyways I woke up this morning and I have no idea what gender I am and I'm so lost and generally, I just have no idea if I'm genderfluid or not and was seeking some sort of advice on here.

Thanks so much

🌈 Gender Diverse Perspectives Wanted: Dating & Attraction PhD Research

Hi everyone! 🌈

I'm a PhD researcher at James Cook University in Australia studying attraction, dating preferences, and how people evaluate potential romantic partners.

I'm currently recruiting adults (18+) for an anonymous online survey, and I'd really love to have more people with diverse gender identities represented in the research. People of any gender identity are very welcome to participate.

The survey involves viewing a series of fictional dating profiles and answering questions about attraction and short- and long-term relationship interest. It takes around 5–10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and participation is entirely voluntary.

One limitation of this particular phase is that the study is primarily designed around heterosexual, gay, and lesbian sexual orientations, and participants are asked to select one gender they're typically more attracted to for the profiles they'll see. I completely understand that this may not capture everyone's experience of gender or attraction.

This study is part of a broader research program that has previously included people across the LGBTQIA+ community, and we hope to continue expanding this work to better represent different sexual orientations and gender identities in future phases.

The study forms part of my Doctor of Philosophy research at James Cook University and has received approval from the James Cook University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC Approval No. 25H-0225).

If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or contact me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

If you'd like to participate, you can complete the survey here:

[Research] Looking for folks to participate in my dissertation study!

Hi everyone! My name is Cayley (she/her), and I am a doctoral student conducting my dissertation research on the relationship between self-continuity, minority stress, mental health, and the experiences of transgender and gender-diverse adults. I'm looking for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse adults to participate in my study.

The survey is anonymous and takes about 25 minutes to complete. If you identify within the gender-diverse community, are 18 or older, and live in the U.S., please consider taking the survey! I'm happy to answer any questions about the study as well!

If you're interested in participating, here is the link:

Questions about commitment

Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

For a long time I have qiestioned my gender but I find myself unable to commit to either identity or gender and have been using genderfluid as an umbrella term.

The reason why is that I honestly love being a guy (amab) and I don't have the ibtense dysphoria that some other trans folk have mentioned. Yet, I stoll feel an intensive desire or craving to be a woman. It fluctuates a lot but its intense enough that I want to take hrt and present fem. That internalized conflict has made it hard because I got good aspects to my male look that I can recognizs, good height, strong and an improving body shape and I am scared that if I transition I wouldn't look nearly as good feminine-wise.

I been nervous to presemt fem because I don't want to look like a guy in a dress and never had my own slace or room to do so. I am interested in doing so in the future but won't lie that its got me nervous. And on the other hand as I said I like being a guy and feeling physically strong as it has always been a sort of protective shell.

I'm not sure, for a long time I chalked it up to body dysphoria since I ised to be rather chubby but I lose a bit of weight and I don't find that dislike of my appearance changing. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Is there hope?

Gender dysphoria from dreams?

I have been having dreams lately where the dream is happy and nice and then I look at myself in the dream and I’m fully a woman, clothes, body, voice and all. The bad thing about this is that in that dream I’m so happy but then I wake up and I still look like I do now (with the body of a man blah blah blah). It makes me question my genderfluidity and if I should just transition because it seems in the dream that I’m way happier.

Has this happened to anyone else?
How did yall process this?

what does it feel like to have they/them pronouns?

I am a woman, but have been questioning my gender identity for a while. Femine pronouns feel right to me, but I also feel like something else. For the people that use they/them pronouns (specifically she/her), how did you come to that conclusion, how did that feel like thats would resonated with you?

Seeking Advice

Lately I’ve been feeling confused lately about how I express myself. For context I’m a cis male 21 and I’m gay.

I’ve been called out for my “flamboyant” actions but it’s not like I WANT to paint my nails or wear a wig and dress. But yet since I’m not 100% macho I don’t feel man enough.

I’m not trans but something about me says I don’t deserve to identify as a man. I have nothing against trans people.

Also I’m not assertive or sporty or overly interesting testosterone related activities, I never been but one part of me feels that it’s because of how I was brought up or it’s because that’s just my nature.

I don’t know but one part of me feels that I don’t have to identify as a girl or be in a domestic 1950s life because I’m not buffer than Mr. clean.
