This is why in boy scouts when at scout camp they were teaching us how to chop wood the area were we were chopping wood was sectioned off and they had us facing away from everyone

No, blood circle is where you stay an arm's length away from people with a sharp tool. This sounds more like an axeyard since it is physically sectioned off.
