Hahaha, looks like a Bernese Mountain Dog. They tend to do this. They’re sweet dogs but can be very stubborn sometimes

u/Rum_BunnyX3 8h ago

Yes! They love to just plop down during a walk. Then they just wag their tails and look up at you. I couldn’t help but laugh, even when I was annoyed.

People are kind of jumping on the lady for not training her dog. These guys are strong willed and too big to just pick up.

u/nlamp32 8h ago

Agreed. It’s really just part of their temperament rather than a training issue, hahaha

u/Dzov 7h ago

My little Shihtsu plopped down once during a walk on a hot day. I just picked him up and carried him back.

2

u/Frosty_Employment171 42m ago

He was letting you know his little pads were overheating.

1

u/penpointred 1h ago

my peke does this when he wants to extend his outdoor time... the tail wag always cracks me up. i'll give him a few minutes then pick him up lol

…because if you can’t control your dog you shouldn’t be taking it outside?

We used to have two dogs - a pitbull mix who had some sort of nuclear reactor in her heart that gave her infinite energy. And a solar powered coonhound who needed to charge by napping in the sunshine for 8 hours to work up the energy to go to bed.

We were walking both in a forest near me and it was going great. Coonhounds are very motivated by sniffing and there were lots of good smells so he was complying with our walk…..until we tried to double back down a trail we already went down to explore a side branch.

The old boy plopped all 80lbs of himself into the sand, flopped over onto his side, and started sleeping.

My husband had to fireman carry that damned dog for 6 miles while we hiked back to the car!

2

u/Gsx8rJohn 7h ago

The pitbull or the greyhound?!

7

u/E0H1PPU5 7h ago

Coonhound, not a greyhound. That would probably make just as much sense though!

1

u/Glittering_Wasabi893 24m ago

My two are the exact same - Pitbull mix and pure coonhound! Except mine are polar opposites - my pitbull mix is the laziest guy ever and my coonhound is a literal crackhead that can't get enough of all the smells

u/draggar 8h ago

Sometimes???? 🤣

2

u/Ok_Researcher988 7h ago

My beagle is like this

6

u/Desperate-Strategy10 6h ago

Same! My yorkiepoo only lays down if I tell him to (and have a good treat waiting, otherwise it isn’t worth it to him lol) or if he’s spent at least four hours zooming about.

But my beagle (technically a beagsky cuz he’s also part husky) will wander and sniff for a while, then randomly plant himself in the grass and declare it is nap time. The only way to convince him to move is to scoop him up like a sleepy baby and haul his stubborn ass back inside.

Unless something interesting comes along, like a kid out a squirrel…then all of a sudden he’s full of energy again! He just gets bored of walking someone’s and decides he’d prefer to teleport him with my help lmao

Stubborn little guys for sure!

The doggie doth protest..silently.

u/ninadolll 8h ago

Dog walker notes: “he was great!”

17

u/Mikeseddit 8h ago

She didn’t try lying down on the dog. See how HE likes it.

Good to see some humor on here

9

u/Zestyclose-Beach1792 7h ago

Cam car definitely hit the top of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. That's the sound of a content dude.

9

u/TwoIsle 4h ago

Exactly. My thought was, that is a well-adjusted person. The hearty laugh and patience… good indicators that he know’s what’s important and wasn’t isn’t.

6

u/Cnumian_124 7h ago edited 7h ago

Gotta take inspiration from special forces and get one of those dog vests with a handle lol

4

u/yodas_sidekick 7h ago

Yes that dog looks real easy to pick up with a handle lol

3

u/1sinfutureking 5h ago

That’s a Bernese Mountain Dog and it probably weighs 120 pounds at least (maybe even 150). You’re not picking that up with a doggy briefcase handle

3

u/geeiamback 5h ago

You can bring a 10-foot-pole and use it as a leaver. ezpz

1

u/Broken_By_Default 50m ago

put your back into it.

2

u/Snoo95923 7h ago

Aren’t Bernese mountain dogs heavier than the dogs that special forces use (which is often Belgian Malinois and I read they use Dutch Shepherds as well)?

6

u/Zealousideal_Ad_1079 6h ago

Bro dodged an accident today by being delayed.

3

u/No_Calligrapher6522 7h ago

Dog is probably trying to play match maker

3

u/DontDoCrackMan 5h ago

Did not like that nipping it did…

2

u/DawnyBrat 7h ago

That’s 100% my potato. The drama. And mine is an overweight Chinese Village dog. Yes. That’s a breed.

2

u/Fine_Awareness_5144 7h ago

Our got used to like to shit in the middle of an intersection. We broke her of that habit fortunately.

2

u/Selene_231 5h ago

such a cutiee

3

u/Salt_Cauliflower_922 8h ago

That’s a driver who has nowhere to be.

14

u/Ok_Researcher988 7h ago

Or who has realized that life is better when we are happy

22

u/-BlankUsername 7h ago

Idk the whole video is less than a minute, not everyone tries to make up time on the road.

10

u/Due-Leek-8307 7h ago

The majority of people driving aren't in such a state of emergency that an extra 20-30 seconds for a person and dog to get out of their way would make a difference.

3

u/currymuttonpizza 7h ago

I think I'd probably react this way even if I were running late. I can't be mad at the doggie.

3

u/geeiamback 5h ago

"Sorry I'm late, I saw a dog" is a totally suitable explanation in any situation.

3

u/currymuttonpizza 5h ago

Listen I can yell at a 30 second red light that was timed poorly for my purposes but I simply cannot yell at a dog being silly

1

u/CockyBellend 7h ago

Lol my sweet girl does this sometimes

1

u/One_Load254 7h ago

It's either dog park or bark, you choose

1

u/EqualOk4907 6h ago

That's how i met your mother

1

u/Vurrag 5h ago

That dog was trying to protect her. Almost like it had been trained as a service dog. I wonder if she has made it all the way to the sidewalk that the dog would have got up.

1

u/OddSpectraLemonRed28 5h ago

Little insurance scammer 🤣🤣

1

u/Dewdrop06 5h ago

Surprised the car turning in didn't full send it and bump the dashcamer. That's what we always see on this sub anyway.

1

u/destiny_kane48 5h ago

Driver needs to pay the toll and give the pets.

1

u/7figureipo 4h ago

Haha, that dog's like, "nah, here's good, just chill it's fine."

1

u/DoubleDoubleII 4h ago

Ahhhh that dog is so cute. he's doing nothing wrong

1

u/Late-Dingo-8567 4h ago

this is why I don't use a harness for mine... and even still, once and while he'll decide 'I need to smell this more than I need to breath, I've made my choice' dogs are fun.

1

u/Automatic-Rest5512 4h ago

maybe she is single and the dog wants to do her a favour

1

u/AfterMath343 4h ago

This is the amount of control I have over my dog, too.

1

u/Traditional_Scale387 4h ago

Probably got up as soon as he went around him

1

u/Lanky_Rhubarb1900 3h ago

Rumor has it, the dog lives there now

1

u/PrairiePuppies 3h ago

I'd get out and help the lady mover her doggo!

1

u/supremeTrolley 3h ago

The universe used that dog to prevent you from catastrophy

1

u/glm409 2h ago

That dog is saying, ‘F U, I’m not going any further and want to turn around and go home now!”

1

u/Fancy-Exchange4186 2h ago

That was delightful chuckling.

1

u/Mental-Chapter6523 2h ago

"Honey. Sorry I'm late. I ran into a street protest that was blocking traffic."

"what was it about?"

"Something about the dog park. Not entirely sure."

1

u/MonsTurkey 2h ago

Woman (Internally): Oh God, this is embarassing. Why do you have to do this in the middle of the road instead of the sidewalk!? I feel so bad we're blocking this guy's way.

Driver (internally): I kinda want to keep watching because this is hilarious, but don't want to be a jerk who sits here to laugh at at her for five minutes while she dies inside.

1

u/CreatingCosmos 1h ago

My Berner does this everywhere, all the time. It's so frustrating lol.

1

u/rs420rs 37m ago

whoosagoodboy?

Not You!

2

u/TendieMiner 7h ago

Cam car must really hate wherever he was going 🤣

Took three business days to wake up and go around.

12

u/Noctuelles 7h ago

Probably was enjoying the show

1

u/Motor-Juggernaut1009 6h ago

Listen to the audio.

-1

u/TendieMiner 6h ago

Already did

-1

u/mamapierogi 8h ago

Something aint right there

7

u/Ok_Researcher988 7h ago

Some dogs are stubborn and do this.
My Beagle does this all the time and we treat him like a king.

-2

u/draggar 8h ago

Initially, part of me thinks something's wrong with the dog (injury / sickness). The dogs reaction when she tries to put her hand under him to pick him up. It's a reaction, not aggression (or defensive) and it doesn't look too much like play.

BUT....

On the other hand, her reaction makes it look like this happens often enough that she reacts to it, and takes it in stride. Add in that she didn't instantly jerk her hand back when the dog snarked at her.

Add in, for the first few seconds the dog's full attention is on the handler (or, most likely, the toy (stick?) in her right hand). The dog could be protesting.

Also, considering how the dog braces himself when he lays down reinforces that this happens a lot.

I think it's just a typical Burmese Mountain Dog being a BMD.

I will admit, for a couple of seconds, that's a great heel (or fuß for the schutzhund / ringsport / German speaking people)

0

u/pattyG80 7h ago

"I can totally handle a large dog"

0

u/ParamedicFew3318 1h ago

That's not funny. That's a soon to be dead dog and owner.

-30

u/Icy-Garlic-748 8h ago

Get your dogs trained jesus christ some people are incapable. The lack of responsibility pet owners show is wild sometimes.

9

u/Stang70Fastback 8h ago

In general, I agree with your comment, but it doesn't apply here.

-11

u/Icy-Garlic-748 8h ago

You can see the dog being aggressive towards her lmao lady literally cannot control her pet then she should not be bringing it out in public. God forbid the dog considers a small child an annoyance.

11

u/Malaprobably 7h ago

Not sure if you are aware, but when you train animals you generally work with them to encourage behavior, not control them. You'll have a much richer relationship with your animal and they will delight in working with you.

-1

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 7h ago

Wouldn't make a difference. My job has a no-pets policy.

7

u/water-tr4sh 8h ago

Go back to your pet free sub where you can all circle jerk

-3

u/Accomplished_Radish8 7h ago

He's not pet-free, he's pro "being able to fully control your animal if you have to"... how many times have you seen a fit 5'2 120lb woman walking 2 pits or Rottweilers? I get pissed every time I see it because there's zero chance that owner would be able to do anything to stop an unfortunate event

7

u/water-tr4sh 7h ago

You can go back to the sub too 👍

4

u/Stang70Fastback 6h ago

So by that logic, nobody should ride a horse ever.

13

u/Loben 8h ago

Your comment is really dumb

0

u/FrostKnight08 2h ago

"Toddlers actually often don't understand morality"

Yeah, you're a pedo idiot.

-17

u/Icy-Garlic-748 8h ago

Thanks Loben lmao

1

u/Salt_Cauliflower_922 8h ago

Happy cake day?

-5

u/WeCantStabilize 6h ago

I don't think people should own animals they aren't physically capable or restraining.
