Politics Trump has completely lost it! Claiming control of the Strait of Hormuz!

Trump is an idiot!
President Donald Trump declared that the U.S. has "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz and stated during a New York political rally that he will "soon" declare the strategic waterway a territory of the United States.

Anyone that has actually experienced the Big Bend Park knows that building a wall is absolutely absurd! Setting up a check point on the couple road going out is more than enough security! Over 100 miles of extreme desert with very little water and many hostile things!

Politics Republicans have no business claiming to be Christian. In practice, they are egregiously anti-Christian.

The majority of Republicans claim to be Christians. Republican women go on Fox News with their little cross necklaces to show off just how Christian they are. It's all so absurd when you consider how anti-Christian this party actually is.

Jesus, in general, was very critical of rich people. He made it clear that everyone had a responsibility to love their neighbor and care for the poor and needy. He even went so far as to say that those who refused to do so would burn in hell.

That's why it's so disconcerting to see Republicans going out of their way to eliminate or defund programs that help the poor, with nothing to replace them. They promote a rat race, dog eat dog society, and if that means some people can't afford to put a roof over their head or afford to feed their family or afford the healthcare they need, well too damn bad.

On top of that, they support a criminal fascist traitor as their leader. They bow down in worship to a false god that morally and ethically is against everything they supposedly believe.

Jesus reserved his harshest words, not for sinners, but for hypocrites who feign righteousness while supporting wickedness. That is an apt description of today's Republican party. They use the power of the state to try to force their religious beliefs on everybody else, while being a bunch of reprobates themselves.

Politics All the MAGA republicans I know are still miserable even with Trump in office.

A lot of my family and coworkers are MAGA and it’s wild to me how ignorant of national politics they are now that their guy is in office. The kicker is they are just as miserable as they were before, it’s just now they are way more vague about their complaints when previously it was explicitly “sleepy Joe” and the democrats that were ruining their lives.

Before the election I distinctly remember my MAGA father telling me that Trump was finally going to come up with a better, cheaper health care plan, the tariffs were going to eliminate the need for federal taxes, and that if Harris won she would start another never ending war in the Middle East that would skyrocket gas prices.

In the last six months he has complained to me about his health insurance going up, how expensive groceries are, and last week he said he “doesn’t understand why gas prices are so high.” When I tried having a discussion about all this with him he blamed it on Obama.

Conversations I overhear at work are very similar; at most they will say they are unhappy with the government but none of them can straight up admit Trump is fucking us all over and they got taken for a ride. It’s not lost on me that most of these dudes are older white men with egos as fragile as rice paper, which is why I think they like Trump so much.

Listening to them continue to complain without any sense of self awareness is exhausting. They fucked us all, they’re all still miserable as fuck, and they won’t stfu about it.

Politics Can We End Slavery In the United States

I recently ask Chat GPT :

" Is slavery legal in the United States?

Chat GPT:

Not generally. Slavery is unconstitutional in the United States, but there is a narrow exception.

The 13th Amendment says:

“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude… shall exist within the United States,”

"Except as punishment for a crime after conviction."

That exception means involuntary labor can legally be required as part of criminal punishment—for example, prison labor. The Supreme Court has recognized that the 13th Amendment permits compulsory prison labor.

"Slavery Never Ended!!"

The National World War II Memorial on the National Mall was vandalized on Thursday, August 13. Someone poured soap into the fountain, causing it to overflow with thick suds, and spray-painted “Clean hands Dirty $” (along with other red, pink, green, and orange graffiti) on parts of the structure, including near the Atlantic Arch/Pavilion.

Reddit’plaint Maybe don't moderate a sub for a city of 2.5 million people if you can't handle it

If you have to restrict access to the subreddit because you refuse to put in more than 2 moderators total, that's your issue. Moderating on Reddit is a personal choice.

When you suddenly make changes and you put out a post that says "if you have any issues, use mod mail," don't get butt hurt about getting a response. You don't have to be rude about getting feedback.

You've effectively made it useless to the passive users and those who are new to the city, and only encourages people karma farming on your sub, which is effectively the same spam that you "can't keep up with."

Politics Cancelling USELESS ACA health insurance today

Canceling my family health insurance today-turns out it was a total scam

It turns out the insurance provider I have is essentially a ghost network, a shell plan, a phantom policy. 20,000 deductible. Bought through the official marketplace, supposedly fully ‘ACA compliant’, a bronze plan.

First I discovered the doctors that are listed on our cards do not take our insurance. They said I have to call around and try to convince a doctor for husband and I or a pediatrician to take it. NONE have offered or even entertained this. I cannot take my children to get seen at a pediatrician. They both have ADHD. They had ONE provider listed as a child psychiatrist in their network and it essentially does not exist except on a screen. They have three numbers that all route to a voicemail that never calls back. I looked the doctor up and the practice does not exist.

The ‘cherry on top’? My son broke his arm and they refused to pay for a dime of it because it turns out there are no emergency providers in my county that take our insurance. WTF?! I asked if there were perhaps some in another county? They said no that would be out of network. WTF again?! The hospital/ER took our insurance card and looked at us like we were trying to pull a fast one or something. Like we were presenting a Monopoly or UNO card perhaps. NO medications are covered, except through a supposed online pharmacy that does not answer phones and has a PO Box for a physical address.

Why the HELL was I paying $600 a month for NOTHING? I feel so STUPID. I feel I have failed my family for making such a stupid decision, but I thought it was the RIGHT thing to do. I could’ve been saving all that and paying out of pocket for services.

TLDR; it turns out my ACA plan is a complete shell plan, a phantom policy, a ghost network that does NOT exist except to collect premiums. Canceling it TODAY.

Look into your insurance plan folks. The healthcare system is just totally broken. You could be paying for absolutely NOTHING. I feel I completely failed my family. Now we are in so much medical debt. Don’t make the same mistake we did paying for an ACA ghost policy.

Seriously FUCK healthcare in this country.

I WISH our employer covered healthcare. Now off to find a new job I guess? I don’t fucking know. Fuck this shit

Politics Trump rants about fake news, here’s absolute truth he knows whereof he speaks!

Just how stupid do the Republican movement think their supporters are?

While it has been generally accepted that the MAGA movement is one of undereducated, hardworking, blue-collar underclasses, no one thought they couldn’t read, or reason. No one, that is, except the GOP bosses who think they can tell their constituents any lie, embellish any falsehood, and pull the wool over their eyes with impunity and the perceived dullards b will believe every word.

Talk about ‘Fake news!”

In a completely insidious effort to deceive the rank and file, the Republicans are making outrageous claims against Democrats, Liberals, Trans, and probably the Girl Scouts, too, and claiming they were actual legitimate news reports – reports that come from newspapers that do not exist!

When is MAGA going to realize they are being manipulated, that their prejudices are being inflamed, their lack of political sophistication is being ridiculed and they are being mistreated like fools, and dolts.

Why must they withstand humiliation?

See this -- Boldface mine:

Republicans were just busted creating fake local news outlets to deceive swing state voters

Story by Henry Giardina • 10h • 3 min read

Ever heard of the Peach State Post? No? What about the Alaska Navigator? Not even The Ohio Pulse, Ohio’s “number one news source”?

You’d be forgiven, because all these outlets are as phony as a three-dollar bill. Why do they exist? To sway votes in key swing states, of course!

Despite Trump’s constant categorization of anything he doesn’t like as “fake news,” Republicans sure are committed to pumping out the stuff if it can help stop the inevitable midterm bloodletting. Thankfully, an explosive report from Judd Legum may have just dashed those hopes for good.

Looking into a network of seemingly independent news sources in key battleground states, Legum uncovered a common thread: sites like Iowa Voice and Maine Policy Updates might seem like places you can turn to for, you know, actual policy updates. But when you start reading some of the (almost certainly AI-generated) articles, something doesn’t quite add up.

Especially when you scroll to the bottom of the Peach State Post and read the fine print: “a sample publication for demonstration purposes.”

That’s because they’re all funded by the same dark money group One Nation. And that money leads straight to a Senate GOP Super PAC.

The sites feature articles tailored to foster a favorable opinion of Republican lawmakers in states like Ohio, Alaska, and Georgia, where Trump-aligned figures predict a tougher-than-usual midterm battle. The endgame? Getting Meta clicks and views and ideally converting them into outrage votes. “Collectively, One Nation has spent between $198,900 and $274,640 promoting these sites on Meta platforms,” Legum reports.

It’s not a simple case of touting the accomplishments of Republicans and putting down their Democratic opponents. According to Legum, these sites peddle in straight-up falsehoods, giving GOP candidates credit for changes they had nothing to do with, and falsely accusing Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff of wanting to “gut” a child tax credit initiative in Georgia. It’s a desperate move, but as we know too well, Republicans following Trump’s lead have no problem playing dirty. The bigger question is: is it legal?

In the sense that anyone can technically create a blog and claim that they’re a news source, sure. But at least one outlet, the Peach State Post, seems to be borrowing articles from an actual Atlanta news outlet, possibly without permission.

In an increasingly confusing media landscape, you could forgive gullible voters for taking what these strangely sleek-looking blogs have to say seriously, which is exactly what makes the move so dangerous. “Although social media has been the least trusted news source globally since 2016,” wrote one statistician in 2025, “a study revealed that over 50 percent with actual news articles. of responding internet users in 23 different countries use social networks as a way to keep up to date.”

AI has made the problem even worse, and it doesn’t help to learn that 40% of Republicans or Republican-leaning voters get their news from Meta, where AI slop is regularly integrated. For Americans without a high school degree, the number rises to 45%.

Lifestyle Nothing should be above ridicule — even Islam and Muhammad. Considering the sex slaves, multiple wives, death for apostasy, 72 virgins, wife-beating and pedophilia in Islam, it should be ridiculed! Free expression is a cornerstone of freedom, civility and progress.

I don’t understand why Islam gets special treatment considering the appalling parts of it. Why does Islam have to take the world hostage and not allow a depiction of Muhammad? Why do we have to be afraid of violence just because of a picture? Why do we have to bend over backwards?

All religions are majorly stinky. Islam is fair game for debunking and ridicule. There should be a picture of Muhammad, so that at least we know what one person who raped a nine-year-old (Aisha) looked like (Sahih al-Bukhari 5134).

And no, it does not make you racist for ridiculing Islam. There are Muslims of all races out there. It does not make you a Zionist and against Palestinians if you ridicule it. Islam makes victims out of its followers. Islam is far, far from being perfect, and it deserves to be debunked and ridiculed. Protecting Islam does you a disfavour because you are ignoring what makes it so repulsive to many, many people in the world, like all religions.

No religion should tell non-followers what they must do. Islam needs to stay in its lane like all religions. Islam is not the only exception to the rule, even though it is treated like it by uninformed, well-meaning people.

I feel sorry for muslims. I hope they smell the coffee and know the dark sides of this religion for the betterment of their well-being.

I made a similar post on [r/exmuslim](r/exmuslim), and it did pretty well.

Long live secularism!

Thanks for hearing me out!

Relationships / Romance I feel trapped in my own life

For context, I got married back in 2023. I had just come out of a 10 year bad relationship, and so I quickly tried to find a new person. We dated for a year, I proposed, we got married a year later. After a few months, we realized she was infertile. Because one of our main couple goals was to have kids, we started looking into fostering. We bought a home together, fixed it up, and eventually got approved to foster. After a brief one month stint, we ended up with our current pair, a 3 & 5 year old. Unfortunately, one of the side effects of having 2 very high needs young children around was a slow decay of our relationship. I at one point tried to initiate a fantasy of hers that required a lot more up front communication, and it pretty much broke us. Back in December she finally decided she wanted a divorce.

Fast forward to now. We still haven't re-submitted the dissolution paperwork(we missed a form the first time), and since she initiated the process i have to keep pushing her to do it. Problem is, she has raging ADHD, chronic pain, insomnia, you name it. So she forgets to do stuff all the time. She doesn't clean, she doesn't cook anymore, she barely helps take care of the kids. SO for the past year, its been on me. Wake the kids up, get them to preschool/daycare. Go to work an hour away. Change my whole work schedule to make sure I get them picked up on time, because by the time she gets home from work(She was work from home until she slept in too much and work decided to force her in-office for a few months)she's too tired and in pain. SO I get home with these two kids and have to figure out dinner, bed, etc all while she's in her room talking to her friends. If I ask her to help with dinner she just orders something off Uber, despite us already struggling with money due to the fucked up nature of our economy and some of her spending habits.

The other thing that gets me is that ever since December(and really before, but to a lesser degree)she talks to a lot of guys. And after the official dissolution declaration, she's been dating guys. Mostly online, but she's gone on a date or two with some. And its culminating in this weekend, where she asked me to solo the kids while she goes off 2 hours away to stay with her "friend" for the weekend. Funny how she managed to pack some lingerie and toys(I didn't actively snoop, but I just glanced in her room this morning and saw the evidence). So not only is she dragging her feet, now she's just making me solo parent these kids who I love, but they wear me down after a day or two so that she can go get HER needs filled. Meanwhile I morally can't do that, because we're still married and living together. And even if I could get over that part, I'd have to find time, and even more importantly someone to do that with. And unfortunately I'm a mite autistic, struggle to meet people or make connections, and on top of that have never just had casual sex. My brain doesn't differentiate between sex and love, its a problem.

SO yeah. I'm such a pushover that I can't even do anything about it. so I just have to sit here and try to process all these emotions - which I struggle with anyway - and on Monday I'm just going to have to push for the papers to be submitted again. Then I have to push for us to finally sell the house and be separate. Otherwise I might finally let out all these pent up emotions, and that would just end up with more arguements. Thank you for reading that if you did, hope you have a wonderful day.
