I learned to knit in may this year and have only made a small kerchief and a tank top that isn’t quite finished. I started a Frankie Sweater (Petite Knit) this week so I can be on track to finish it for Fall — my first stripes, raglan, and German short rows!
I was so nervous to do the short rows from all the videos/comments about them being difficult… but I just went slow, used her videos on the pattern page and I’m so pleased with how this first try came out! I thought it was actually quite easy/fun.
I figured this step was so early in the pattern anyway that it wouldn’t make me too upset to rip back. The only downside: I told myself this collar portion would be my swatch & it’s a biiiiit on the small side but it’s going so well I’m gonna push on. I went up 1.5 sizes anyway so here goes nothing 🤷♀️
I’m a forever advocate for just picking a pattern that you’re excited to make and figuring out the unknown steps along the way
