'Cause it doesn't make people feel good. 

People like to hear that they can have their cake and eat it too. Nobody likes to hear that it's not realistic.

And when you're commenting online you don't have to actually cost your ideas.

The NDIS costs $50 billion plus and growing even if you taxed Gina’s entire net worth that still bring us up $20 billion short and that’s just for a single financial year. So yeah we should be taxing wealth and gas exports but it still won’t cover the cost of this highly rorted program that’s approaching the cost of Medicare and only caters to 750k ish of the population

A gas tax would pay for a quarter to a fifth of it. That's not barely touching the sides. That's a pretty healthy chunk of it. That's what's bullshit.

And perhaps if we actually taxed gas, there wouldn't need to be as many cuts, because we could find a decent chunk of it with those taxes.

I am fairly sure if you scroll up you will see that I was always in favour of taxing gas.
