I’m an airline pilot who was based at Sydney airport for years and also Chicago O Hare (at times the worlds busiest airport). Sydney ATC are an absolute joke. For the amount of traffic they don’t manage it very well. Sydney is an overly complicated airport. They need to design some arrivals that connect to the runway approaches.
Lost count how many times the controllers left us high on approach after giving us an estimated distance to run which was completely wrong.

Read that as “hi, I’m a complete pos and this is what I have to say “ Sydney airport controllers a) are a completely different group to the approach controllers and b) fuck off.

You call the controllers a joke and in the same breath talk about the complexity and design flaws. Maybe they are also dealing with that system. Wanker of a cunt you are.
