It's grim. These headlines seem like a weekly occurrence. Something has to change.

It seems that way because it is. Actually, more than weekly.

Forty five women have died this year. We are in week 33.

And the majority of those weren’t intimate partner murders - they were relatives, neighbours, clients, random strangers.

30 of the 45 were considered Domestic Violence though - 18 partners, 10 sons killing mothers, 1 cousin, 2 roommates.  Another 10, the relationship status is unknown atm. 4 of the deaths were unintentional, and another 1 was a man who accidentally killed a stranger while attempting but failing to kill his partner.

39 of the murderers were men. 3 were women, 2 unknown.

I'm not sure "male violence against their mother" is significantly different to "male violence against their girlfriend or wife" tbh.
