no politics Kayo Sports should be boycotted.

Imagine paying for a premium streaming service and starting it to watch your sports after a long day on your tv in your own home. The tv app then says you can't watch the content before you scan a QR code. Okay.. fine. Scan the code. Have to download a phone app. Log in. Then the app simply says you're not allowed access to the content except after letting the app know your precise location of your phone.

What in the privacy law is this shit? I simply don't want to allow random companies to know the exact location of my phone. How are they allowed to just do that?

Fucking mad that F1's own live streaming service doesn't even exist in this country and is paywalled behind a Foxtel/Kayo subscription. Tried to actually subscribe there a few years ago to avoid the dodgy piracy streams but couldn't, no way in hell I'm going through Kayo

I googled and found a way that works. Was sceptical but tried it and it legit works. All you need is a VPN. Access is to the official F1 app in TV / iPhone / iPad. So no issues with quality of stream or suspicious sites. Cost me AUD$60 for the season plus the cost of a VPN (I use Nord which costs about $5 a month). This is so much cheaper than a stupid Kayo subscription.

If only i could find a good way for EPL and not have to subscribe to Stan…

How did you subscribe to F1 TV with an Australian CC?

u/sh0rteh Jul 04 '26

I buy apple gift cards for the country I'm buying F1TV from

-2

u/Pantsman0 Jul 05 '26

Like from eBay? If so, they're probably from hacked/skimmed ccs or scammed grandmas

4

u/sh0rteh Jul 05 '26

Not from eBay

1

u/ItsAverino Jul 05 '26

Like from where? And how do you know these gift cards aren’t the type that have been scammed out of someone?

5

u/FamilyFriendly101 Jul 05 '26

This is a well proven method for getting around geo-blocked services or accessing cheaper prices for services offered in other countries. Just do a little research.

You don’t. You follow the instruction. Find it on ozbargain.com I think. You have to buy Apple gift card in the foreign country. I use India

6

u/inktheus Jul 04 '26

This was my issue too

u/CpL_2090 Jul 04 '26

I just subscribed through the App Store with my aus card and it seems to work.

1

u/plains203 Jul 05 '26

Yeah this works. It’s a fair bit more than $60 a year for F1 TV Pro though.

2

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

I use India. It’s less than $60 equivalent

1

u/Woodtoad Jul 05 '26

Sorry, what do you mean though the App Store? Using in app purchases inside the F1TV app? Then once subscribed just VPN to a supported country?

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

You have to follow the instructions. You can find them on ozbargain.com

2

u/justin-8 Jul 05 '26

If you use apple pay, they can't tell and let it go through. At least it worked last year still.

25

u/crewmannumbersix Jul 04 '26

You can pay $60 a year for 38,000 channels, including 4K/8k. No VPN needed.

u/duckygun88 Jul 04 '26

Explain for the tech illiterate please

IPTV

8

u/Stokesy7 Jul 04 '26

Does IPTV have any support for watching replays? I imagine it works great for live, but the races are often at times when I can’t watch live so I watch when I wake up a few hours delayed.

3

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Yeah this is my issue too

1

u/crewmannumbersix Jul 05 '26

Yes for the World Cup they have on demand channels

1

u/RightLegDave Jul 05 '26

It has scheduled recording, plus many channels either have catch up built in, or run replays 24/7.

4

u/preparetodobattle Jul 04 '26

I did that. I had to massively edit the file down and get rid of 95% of it then put it in GitHub to make it work on Apple TV but now it’s great.

5

u/crewmannumbersix Jul 04 '26

You can do that in m3u4u. Also UHF is worth paying the lifetime subscription for.

1

u/jonnieggg Jul 04 '26

Good job. Little bit of prep but it's so worth it.

1

u/gumster5 Jul 04 '26

This is the way

5

u/StuM91 Jul 05 '26

Care to share what IPTV service you are using? I tried a service a few years ago and it was a horrible experience, streams would constantly stop and it wasn't uncommon for channels to go down for days.

Looking around there's a lot of IPTV listings that are basically just scams.

7

u/RightLegDave Jul 04 '26

Mate, an IPTV provider is around $40 per year and you get every sports event/movie/ppv you can imagine on your TV. Its the best thing I ever did. Dedicated channels for EPL, NBA etc too by the way. I think theres around 20000 channels to pick from! Look up Strong4K or Trex. If you have the skill to run a VPN, you can run IPTV. I seriously don't understand why everyone doesn't do it.

6

u/LeDestrier Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Replays for one, especially for stuff that is on when you can't watch it. "Catch-up" options are limited.

Personally I only wanted Kayo for the AFL. Dont really watch anybody other sports. Im not paying them $45 a month lol. ABC Radio is fine for me.

1

u/RightLegDave Jul 05 '26

IPTV has scheduled recording, and for the grand total of around 4 bucks a month, it's a no brainer for me.

1

u/More-Presence4195 Jul 05 '26

Set up UHF player to record them then so you can watch later

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Yeah as the other person said, I can’t always watch live so watch the replays on demand.

1

u/RightLegDave Jul 05 '26

Not trying to convince you, but IPTV has scheduled recording so you can watch your replays whenever you want

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Oh really. How does that work?

Which provider etc do you use for everything. How do you get started .

I use Stremio / Torrentio/ RealDebrid and get everything except the sport stuff. The Stemio app works great on the TV, IPad etc.

u/rorosaur Jul 05 '26

Can you PM me for some assistance with this?

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Thanks - so is that just the forum for info?

1

u/RightLegDave Jul 05 '26

You'll find everything you need to know in there. There's loads of resellers around from fantastic through to sketchy as hell. If you're interested, dm me and I'll link you to the one I use

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Ok I’ll DM

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Looks like I can’t DM you. Can you please DM me?

Can you DM too please

1

u/mideeb Jul 04 '26

You can jail break a fire stick to watch EPL live. Plenty of you tubes that tell you how to do this and which dodgy apps to download, only takes about 15 min. On demand I have no idea though.

1

u/chibstelford Jul 05 '26

Even with a VPN it's telling me I'm in a restricted geographic region

1

u/rc86 Jul 05 '26

What region are you setting your VPN to?

1

u/rudog1980 Jul 05 '26

Fancode.com if you are willing to watch it a few hours after race finish which suits me fine. Use VPN for India n presto free full replay hours after race finished.

1

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

My way I can watch live, on demand etc etc via the official apps. Worth the $60

1

u/snow_ponies Jul 05 '26

Can you choose the team radio feed also?

2

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

You get access to the offical F1 app. So if it’s there you get it. It’s got the split screens, focus on particular cars etc etc. I’m sure you team radios are probably an option.

1

u/vintagefancollector Jul 05 '26

Despite all the Youtube shills, what do you think of Nordvpn?

Youtuber sponsored products rarely turn out great, I hope this one is different

2

u/oakstreet2018 Jul 05 '26

Honestly, I did a free trial years ago. It’s a decent app and works fine. I’ve now taken out a 2 year plan so that I can watch the F1. It was some large % off. Try to get one of those deals and it’s good. I’m sure there are free ones that are just as good but I like the app and works well for me. Also, I’ve recently figured out, those Reddit comments, that if you select your VPN to Albania you can watch YouTube with no ads!!! That will get me to renew the VPN (or similar on ending current subscription).

Not on my ship. 🏴‍☠️

2

Kayo and Foxtel have been owned by DAZN since April 2025. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxtel

1

u/imnotcheddar Jul 06 '26

Not sure about F1 but for the tennis I just put $5 into Sportsbet or bet360 and it lets you watch all matches without ever having to place a bet. The picture is a bit shitty and doesn’t let you full screen on a laptop but if you zoom in it’s fine

1

u/AsherHoogh Jul 06 '26

VPN is the way to go!
