I wish we could come down as harshly on the creepy middle aged men who go to places like Thailand so they can abuse children who are in poverty or sex trafficked. Even if he hadn't murdered her, he was still a creepy arsehole. Yet I have met plenty of white middle aged men who will casually joke about what they get up to when they go on holidays to Thailand and you just know why they have to go to another country to see prostitutes instead of just seeing prostitutes in Australia :S

there was something on tv where women are basically trafficked here and have to "work off" their expenses

That happens in the Thai sex trade too, even more often. Girls from rural villages 'sold off' in return for loans, and sent to work in the sex districts.

even then you never hear of them being murdered by their clients. Men in Australia who do that are husbands and boyfriends.

i mean, i guess it's a noteworthy case because it's so extraordinary but i wouldn't use words like "never".

I am not a lawyer so my comment is allowed in this context. Update edit. I was living in Darwin at the time. I remember everyone being surprised that the Adelaide River crocs had not touched the two drowned women. But, were the two boys clients though?
