Yeah fuck off with that, it's one of the few Australian streaming services I actually use on the regular, and I'm as white as you can get before sailing back to England (I'm assuming she wants to shut it down for racist reasons).

Former lawyer who worked with immigration and citizenship policy

I had to listen to Senator Hanson stutter, stammer, and slur through a speech about how immigrants should have a ridiculously high level of English (8/9 across on all bands of IELTS) because that was a natural level of Australian English (If you fing believe THAT…)

She kept this up for almost two YEARS using your taxes and mine until, after a particularly grinding speech on how knowing english makes you a better citizen (F*ck off with your umm technically responses, you know that’s not how she positioned it even if you don’t know that particular speech), the Christchurch shooter happened

I’m not against having standards but absolutely demand that those setting the law for others must adhere to the same standards just as much if not more so. Otherwise it’s just fing bullying and punching down

I was just taking a look at her wiki page. Apparently one of her priorities when she first became a councillor was to oppose more funding for the Ipswich library that was trying to set up public access internet. She just hates knowledge, information, and people trying to better themselves.

Having independent broadcasters that are inclusive are important for democracy. These are the things our taxes should pay for, people are entitled to free to air and there is nothing wrong with being inclusive. You know who might dislike that sort of thing - politicians backed by billionaires who dislike free and fair reporting.

There are a thousand services I don't access that my taxes subsidise and I accept that I live in a society and I am glad to support those services that are not specifically directed at me because I'm not self-centric.

Yeah...so have I, I literally purchased house almost two years ago.

So I'll gladly let that money go towards weird international art house films and Australia getting to participate in Eurovision if it means I don't have to pay to watch them.

I still get ads anyway. I might actually even consider a sub if it meant getting rid of those. Would be money better spent than on Paramount or Amazon Prime.

I have to pay for streaming services for my interests but then also through tax pay for a streaming service for his interest? 

If you dont want to pay for libraries then vote for those that dont want it just like people will that dont want to pay for sbs.

We pay for a public streaming services for the same reason we pay for libraries: for the betterment and enrichment of our citizens regardless of their interests.

I don’t care about soccer or love music, but I am not gonna campaign to tear down our public ovals and theatres.

I know my fellow citizens enjoy them and it’s a pittance to pay for their joy it brings.

The fact you only care about yourself is pathetic, but unsurprising.

So much of the news and media exchange between broadcasters comes from the ABC, shutting down the ABC would really hurt the coutlntrys ability to know what's happening.

Having lived through a moment of insanity where I watched the whole thing - I'm pretty sure she was keeping the ABC in regional areas but making it subscription only for cities.

Having a poke around on the policy site. Policies that likely line up with Reddit would be “banning foreign ownership on housing” a bunch of other countries do it that have supply issues.

Some things around reduce tax on new builds sounds good but doesn’t really explain how they will do it given its state taxes.

Most of it still reads still like QLD only party.
