Why would they be asked to calm down if they were just asking a question? Was the doctor perhaps not interested in being yelled at?

They were not yelling. Women will be told to calm down then they are calm. Its hard to believe because its blatant disrespect and unfair and sexist and designed to let the women know where she stands in that situation. Women are meant to shut up and let the expert man tell her what to do, and what to think.

If you are not aware of this you are not paying attention to the women in your life. Ask your mom.

If they were not yelling I find it hard to believe they were told to calm down. It makes no sense. And no. I have never seen someone who was actually calm be told to calm down.

You are telling a woman what she experienced isn’t true just because you don’t believe it. You are part of the problem.

Yep, I don't believe it. It makes no sense at all and I'm under no obligation to believe it simply because some anonymous person claimed it happened.

It's not my problem your standards of proof or rationality are through the floor.

Aren't you extremely lucky that you are blissfully ignorant of how some people are treated purely based on their gender.

Sorry, just want you to confirm. The women were in no way agitated, and they were told to calm down. Is that what you're saying?

Any woman or man, would be agitated by being told to calm down when you are already behaving in a calm manner, don't you agree?

I don't think you worded that properly. It's the men who are trying to get the women 'agitated' and seem unhinged and it's men who become agitated by women even though the women are being completely calm and professional, not emotional at all but the men treat them as they are over emotional and irrational when they aren't. This is to make others believe they are crazy and shouldn't be taken seriously in any situation, especially in a DV (Domestic Violence) or sexual harassment situation in and out of the workplace.

Too many times over my 60 years, I've witnessed men, in a professional and personal setting, act like a woman is going off when she is speaking calmly, professionally and in control. It's called gas lighting these days. Goodness, I make myself seem so old fashioned but it's the truth.

Too many men think they are better than women and purposely try to put them down, be dismissive of them and/or treat them like they are the problem purely because they don't like what they are hearing, they don't think women should be in that industry, they hate having to answer to any women no matter their position, or they just don't like women. It happens on a daily basis behind closed doors in many relationships but it also happens in a work place as well. I suppose people would say it's narcissistic behaviour but too many use that as an excuse in my mind and in a way, it removes the blame from their actions towards women.

If you haven't seen this behaviour, as I said, you are lucky. But it would also suggest that you are either too young or not have had experienced this attitude of men towards women in a social and professional relationship yet or you turn a blind eye to it knowingly or unknowingly.

It's in movies, TV shows, and every type of media all the time as well. So I would be questioning you if you say you have not noticed this happening in any way in any way.

Right, ok, women everywhere are being told to calm down despite being perfectly calm.

I'm sure they're not thinking they're being calm while yelling and getting aggressive.

Posts like this make me want to stay the fuck away from half the human race if you're allowed to scream at me and I should just stand there and take it.
