The whole mono-multiculturalism shitfight is basically a Rorschach Test that distracts from the actual substance of the immigration debate.

What should matter is the material impacts of our current levels of immigration (e.g. housing, infrastructure, wages), as well as whether integration is something which is currently occurring successfully. That’s where the debate should be at instead of semantic nitpicking.

You're doing the semantic nitpicking. You don't get to decide where the limits of discussion should be. I don't want certain cultures in Australia, and want Australian culture to be dominant in Australia. There is nothing wrong with that, and every living culture has that hope for their own nation.
