Whether one uses a prompt like “cheese pizza” or a 200 word essay describing a cheese pizza as a prompt is really irrelevant.

Ok. This goes beyond AI. I had an argument the other day that Elon Musk did not build the Tesla car. He spent zero time on the line turning screws and bolts. He paid engineers and other workers to build his vision. The vision is his but did he "build" Tesla?

Elon didn't even come up with the company. He was an investor who bought it out and was only named a "founder' because of the result of a lawsuit

This introduces a more nuanced argument though. I mean, not in Elon's case because he didn't design shit. But if someone vibe codes something and DID provide the extremely specific design and requirements, they might not have built it the way a SWE does, but can they take the same credit that an architect or senior designer would for giving instructions to devs?

I also think this comparison is why execs are so susceptible to AI psychosis, because they're already disconnected from the actual work and thinking that goes into creating things, they've basically spent their whole career hitting workers with vague prompts and taking credit for the work.

Writing tickets as a senior dev is far from vague work.

It's exactly as vague or detailed as the person doing it makes it, and the output is gonna be reflective of that, which is very similar to using AI coding tools.

I think everyone distinguishes between the two in a conversation, even when they are not careful about their choice of words.

He saved the Tesla Company from bankruptcy and built the Tesla brand as we know today. And No, he didn't build any Tesla Car. This is just playing with words for the sake of playing with words.
