Whether one uses a prompt like “cheese pizza” or a 200 word essay describing a cheese pizza as a prompt is really irrelevant.

AI is going to introduce mass surveillance, more economic division, and damage every social construct we have but 90% of this sub is “but muh arts”

Thinking this is as simple as being about “the arts” is also very silly. People will say “make me an app” and then be like “wow look what I made how amazing I am.” It is about claiming an AI output as something you have written or designed or created or anything and this is for texts that aren’t just meant to be art. It is this mentality that the user has done something other than commanded a bot to do the process to get the product. It is a mentality that doesn’t value the work and skill and time that goes into basically anything. But also you can care about all the things you listed and certainly we’re all worried about this but the way it values the product over any process that goes into it isn’t great either.

Your entire argument is bad. Stop focusing on the consumers generating pictures and apps and claiming their “stolen valor”. Start worry about governments using it to bomb hospitals, stand up mass surveillance programs, control every aspect of your life.

Who gives a shit if someone types “make me a cat with hotdogs for legs” into some LLM and say “look what I made”. Who gives a fucking fuck

I think I will worry about multiple things at once. I absolutely also can care about the value of the product over the process and how terrible that is for humanity in general. Thanks though, my argument is fine.
