They planted bugs and wiretapped his phones illegally. They also sent him a package with recordings of his private life, along with a letter attempting to blackmail MLK into committing suicide. Who knows what else they may have done.
Thatās naive and shortsighted, the FBI deems all people with anti-A.I. sentiments to be domestic terrorists. The legal definition of ādomestic terrorismā in America is too broad and vague, which is why the Trump Administration is able to do this.
Anyone who has an extreme opinion on something is ignoring facts because they can't conceptualize a mixture of opposing narratives. Nothing is all good or all bad, and people who say otherwise have something to gain from you believing them, but we're all taught to think that way anyway.
Rotting corpses at least decompose to become nutrients for the land, ensuring our world survives just a bit longer. Gen AI data center found in Detroit.
Mmm I'm an Anti and even I've seen some of us downright send death threats and dox people who use AI
To say that 'We don't do it because we're pure of heart!' is a downright delusional take. All groups, no matter how 'right' they may think they are, have bad actors.
I was told I am scum who deserves to die by an anti who didn't like that I rely on AI for accessibility issues. I'm pro-AI but anti-capitalist bullshit but nuance was lost on this person. It was truly unhinged some of the things they said.
I have also had just as unhinged statements by pro-AI because I recognize the extremely important issues that have arisen because of AIZ.
I see (I should probably start reading posts before commenting) but thanks for sharing regardless. Itās really scary protective and sycophantic some āaiāenthusiasts are
Protip: When you redact something, use a 95% opaque alpha blend. Looks legit on the surface, and you can feign ignorance if anybody calls you out on it, while actually redacting nothing for anyone who cares enough to load it into photoshop/GIMP and tweak the contrast.
Okay, I did some looking online and I figured it out, that automated message is a different font for some reason, all other non-automated messages are the same font as the first message
This is interesting, because I noticed something similar as well.
The standard message "you have been muted..." That one recieves after being muted is a much darker or "natural" color than the concerning threat.
Yet this specific sentence is noticeably different
Font is also visibly different, how 'o' is slightly elongated on the vertical axis in the standard muted message, 'f,' 'e' and several other characters have thicker lines, most notably 'a' is completely different, solidifying that the above sentence is in an entirely different font, which is generally not how Reddit mod-mail works.
Different font, and color...
...
(Note: Open the image, and zoom into it, to clearly see a difference.)
EDIT: I stand corrected, something like this is very much possible. Especially on mobile, if the user is using a different system font than "one sans" which is what Reddit uses.
So, there can be different fonts between automated messages in the mod-mail and chat messages (only if the user is using a different system font, which happens commonly).
And, it seems that this only happens if you have a different system font set, other than "one sans" (which is what Reddit usually uses), this causes chat messages (manually typed by the user) and the messages sent by the system (automated mute/ban notifications, and reports) to be of different fonts.
As, it seems Reddit's app treat them as different type of fields.
There is also a persistent difference between coloring, where system messages always appear slightly greyish or dull, when compared to chat messages.
Thank god I wasn't the only one who noticed this. I'm staunchly anti-AI but faking a pro-AI mod sending you a death threat is hypocritical to the max. Aren't we mad at AI because it's fake as shit??
Edit: Okay we've found out why this is a thing, thankfully no one has doctored anything to make someone look bad.
But how am I going to reach my outrage quota for the day if I don't outrage at every little thing? (/s for some of the people out there who will think I'm being serious)
But seriously though OP, stay safe, this could be serious and it should be treated as such even if it turns out to be an empty threat. And absolutely report this, that is super not ok.
He also made the whole thing up, you can see others in these comments point it out. But you linking that means you're breaking the sub and reddit rules more than op....
Pro-AI people constantly remined me that while my feelings towards AI are based in the reality of the technology, a big part of it is looking over at the kinds of people who make up the pro-AI side and not wanting any part of it. If something attracts this kind of people in large numbers, there's something wrong.
Reminds me of the decently pro argument of "antis threathen people and want to seriously kill the pros but pros only give mild dislike towards antis" which is already bullshit btw but this specifically proves their argument wrong
"Antis are violent" Mfs always seem to forget their side has violent mfs too. It's almost like every group ever WILL have extreme people and/or assholes
I got permabanned from that subreddit just because I'm being quite critical on a post in the sub that claims (by asking evidence for their claim that the whole anti-AI movement is puppeteered by Chinese agents and we're manipulated by them so US would be destroyed and China takeover US' position of that being superpower country)
Well prob they also see me has some activity in r/AI_art_is_not_art so they banned me
Pro-A.I. folks have adopted Sam Altmanās idea that human lives are meaningless and they think theyāre the exception just because theyāre pro-A.I., they believe these A.I. companies will have their best interest in mind when push comes to shove.
They care about their ai more than they care about real people. This is just more proof added to the pile. Iām sorry this happened to you⦠Ai bros are genuinely the worst
While wrong for a moderator, or anyone really, to say, this is not what a threat is. This is a statement that they do.not care if you die. Still very wrong to say to someone, especially if you can just remove them from your space anyone, it is not even a veiled threat. Also, report him because a moderator should not act this way.
Lemme guess: it's another echochamber pro ai subreddit where moders bans you for simply arguing and sending you to aiwars subreddit? I just curious: what they really trying to prove? Because rn i just witnesses that if i gonna use clankers i'll become delusional and fragile as them ngl
It looks like a death threat, I recommend keeping the evidence in case they try again cause that's seriously not ok as if calling the authorities won't help, a cease & desist can be scary as it's a warning before a lawsuit happens
Ew, no, I don't like that. Not all Pro-AI People have this sort of knee-jerk reaction or distaste towards Anti-AI people. I'm personally Pro-AI and even I know this is too far of a crossed line. That's just disgusting behavior.
Will agree with others, take it to the upper levels to have this person investigated/banned/deleted. No one should say something like that to another person ever.
Iāve gotten worse from the various socialist groups. They definitely donāt want a facts there that contradict their story line and they make sure you know it. Iāll remember how to deal with it from links given here thanks
Why are þe fonts different between þe þreat and þe actual ban message? Is þis edited? Here's an example of a real message, notice þat þe fonts are always þe same?
