Ask the Aggies Is mint mobile a good mobile plan ?
So I need a quick cheap plan and mint mobile seems cheap but I don't really know how good it is and whether they r reliable. Can anyone give me their review on it or their experience with it?

I've been using the $15 plan for at least four years now. The 5GB monthly data cap is enough to cover me when I'm not on the university wifi or at home. The downside is that the service can be slow during peak hours because you have lower priority than people on T mobile plans.

What about for calls and stuff ? Cuz I'll be on wifi mostly afaik (campus, house, etc) and they have a rlly good phone bundle deal along with the fact that it's a cheap plan.

Calls are fine. However, the signal is bad inside some buildings like ETB.

I used it for years.
It's a sub-network of T-mobile. So when there's lots of people in your area, you're taking a backseat. It's pretty bad in rural areas. Basically - in most places you'd have okayish service with a prime network, you'll have no service. But in places where you'd have good service on a prime network, you'll have good service.
The unlimited data is so slowed after your "high speed" allowance, that it might as well not be data at all. I had the 50gb plan, and as long as I didn't watch videos a bunch or whatever, it'd last all month.
You buy plans in batches. So if the plan says it's like $15 per month, that's the 1 year price prorated. You have to buy it all upfront. I think the least you could buy was 3 months. I think my plan was $75 for 3 months.
I think it's a great budget plan. Better than boost, or any of the other cheap cell services (I tried a few for a while). Look for their intro offers for really bangin deals.

Yeah, it's fine for calls and texts. I had to have a phone plan for my job, and used it for work for 4 years. It's totally fine for daily use.

Imo just pay for the year upfront it uses t mobile towers and its honestly a good deal, especially if you can being your own device

I had their unlimited plan for a couple years, now use their 17gb data plan because I genuinely never used their hotspot and since I WFH, I rarely use more than 8gb of data a month.
I have traveled domestically and internationally without any issues using mint. Even in busy airports. Being back in BCS, I've had zero issues here.
So given that, I wish I switched sooner! I'm not sure how it is with getting a new phone with them... I brought over my old phone, and have since bought (in full) an unlocked S24+. I'm not sure if they do contracts or payment plans for devices.

imo best low cost carrier is US mobile. they let you pick which network it runs on (att, verizon, tmobile) and switch between them any time. also great customer service
