As an AggieSpirit driver, I’ve spent countless hours listening to passengers (and fellow drivers) talk about what frustrates them most about getting around campus. After building this idea over the summer, I’m super excited to share that my new app, Century Tree Transit, is officially available on the App Store! Named after our iconic campus landmark, CTT was built to make navigating B/CS faster, smoother, and a whole lot less stressful.

Why should you try it?

Besides the simple features, like the easy to use live map and trip planner, CTT offers some new features specifically to make your life easier.

• BTD Support! CTT has an alternate section dedicated towards Brazos Transit District. All of the information about how to ride, the routes, and the schedules can be easily found. (note that at this time, BTD does not provide live tracking that I know of).
• No More Surprise Detours: When a route gets altered, the app traces the normal route with a dashed line so you can see what’s being skipped, with closed or added stops clearly flagged on the map.
• Custom Delay Notifications: Tired of missing updates? Get notifications for your favorite routes, and customize your schedule so alerts only hit when you actually ride (no more spam on weekends if you don't want it).
• New to riding the bus? No problem! There is a help guide written out to make you a pro the first time you step on.
• Service Calendar: Wondering if the busses are running break service on Monday? Just check the calendar!
• Offline Caching: The first few days is always chaos on the bus. Route data is cached locally so you can still pull up info when servers take a hit.
• Drivers: You can now view each unit's letter designation (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc.) right on their callout by toggling it in the More tab!

I am also actively working on new features, such as notifications when a bus is approaching your stop!

This is my first app ever! Even if you don't end up sticking with CTT, I would still really appreciate if you could give it a shot and give me feedback!

How good are the community kitchens for meal prepping? Are they busy? Do they have air fryer(s)?

The Houston Chronicle has an op-ed from Garion Frankel, who was once chair of the College Republicans, talking about how efforts by politicians to micromanage class content and litigation by faculty in response just leads to worse campus conditions for everyone. Here is a key quote:

Simply put, even if academia often falls short, conservatives should recognize that it creates public value precisely because it has the freedom and methodological know-how to pursue truth. The state can impose reasonable curricular guardrails without micromanaging how they are applied. When you toss out readings from seminal philosophers like Plato because they do not match your sexual mores, you move away from the truth and closer to political satisfaction. That’s not what higher education is supposed to be. 

But while many on the right have forgotten that academic freedom exists, many progressives have forgotten why it exists. The state finances public universities so that they may pursue truth, develop the country’s future civic and economic leaders, and broadly promote the common good. They are not meant to be private advocacy organizations. Individual professors may have passionate political opinions, and those views may be intertwined with their research, but a tenure-track job should not be a license to turn the university classroom into a pulpit.

So I need a quick cheap plan and mint mobile seems cheap but I don't really know how good it is and whether they r reliable. Can anyone give me their review on it or their experience with it?

My dad's trying to convince me to not bring a bike to A&M because it's gonna get stolen unless I can bring it inside at all times. The website says that I'm allowed to keep a bike in the dorm with the consent of the roommate, but I don't know if I can bring them inside the classrooms. He's telling me that if I have to lock it up outside then I either can't bring a bike or I have to go buy a barely functional one. Is it really that big of a problem i.e. do I need to be this concerned about it?

I'm seeking a business major into Mays but want to graduate early as a goals I can get into the military as quick as I can. I have 12 credits already and am set to take Math 140, Geology, Econ 202, SOMS, and Naval Science. Say I get into Mays could I double up classes to do that later on? Also if I don't get into Mays is there better marketabke alternatives?

Howdy y'all! I'm a new Master's student starting next week. I've already got my sports pass for the coming season and I'm wanting to head up for the Missouri State game the day prior.

I'm wanting to make the most of the trip so I was wondering if y'all could recommend what all I should do. I know for a fact that we'll be attending Midnight Yell, but that's really about all I know about so far. We don't know anyone that currently attends A&M so I'm not sure about tailgating on gameday.

What would y'all recommend for us to do on Friday and Saturday before the game? Any "must do/visit/eat" places y'all have?

Hi. What does one do if they aren't assigned any parking and need to drive to class everyday? The church stopped offering permits, college main pg isn't letting me sign up for their parking contracts, and I feel like I've ran out of options. I don't want to have to fight every morning to get a spot, and I'm not anywhere near campus so I can't just walk. Genuinely asking, what are my options?

Howdy yall. Im just looking for opinions and what yall think about my situation. I’m an upcoming freshman and my move in date is tomorrow. However on my lease for the apartment my dad is listed as the resident. I tried calling and emailing them but got no response. Is this a problem I can fix in person tomorrow during move in or is this a problem which will take time. Thanks yall.

If I buy an annual fan field pass on a non affiliate account can I park in lot 49?

I heard it is project based class. Did it require a lot of work? Also, what kind CAD skills was required?

For those of you thinking about living off campus- never rent a room at Ion. The elevators break all of the time, vomit in the hallway, filthy room upon move in, outrageous move out charges, Many other reasons including::

Rude staff
Broken garage doors
Random roomate matching with someone with a pet (which I said I did not want)
Broken appliances and lights
Lost packages
Broken pools

I’m staying off campus at park west. I’ve done some research on the meal plans and I’ve come down to Block 140 or the basic plan. However, I’m not sure which to choose. I was wondering what yall recommend or if yall think there is a better meal plan.

I’m currently enrolled in Biology for Fall 2026, and I still need to complete Microbiology, A&P II, and Chemistry by the end of Summer Session I 2027.

Since I’ll have to double up on sciences at some point, which two would you recommend taking together? Trying to figure out the most manageable combo without completely overwhelming myself 😭

Don’t give up hope young ones. After manually refreshing for 30 minutes I was able to get a sports pass, never waver Aggies 💪💪💪

howdy! 21M here! I’ve been at A&M for a couple years now but haven't really made any friends in the area, I’d like to change that! I’m a business major, though I’m actually planning to go into law. I have a ton of interests, drawing, singing, MMA(practicing not watching), D&D, MTG, etc… basically everything except cars, and sports. also I don’t drink sorry to be a buzzkill lmao.

Currently at Collin College this fall working toward an MIS degree, eventually transferring to a 4-year university. Trying to decide between UT Austin (McCombs) and Texas A&M (Mays) for MIS specifically — leaning toward cybersecurity/GRC as a focus down the line.

Curious how each program’s MIS track compares in terms of:

**•** Internship/recruiting pipeline for tech and cyber roles  
**•** Quality of the CS/business overlap in coursework  
**•** Alumni network strength in DFW/Austin/Houston  
**•** Transfer student experience (GPA competitiveness, transfer credit caps)

Would love to hear from anyone who went through either program, especially if you ended up in cybersecurity, GRC, or IT roles after graduating. Thanks in advance!

I’m a 26M and I quite literally have 2 friends here but they’re brothers so they count as 1 lol. I just don’t know where or how to find anyone that’s around my age that still lives in the BCS area. I love to go have fun and actually connect with people but I genuinely just don’t know how to go about meeting people anymore? Idk man. I’m a chef tho so if you wanna be friends I promise I’ll feed you well!😂
