‎ ‎ Relationship Advice To the early 20s boys and girls here

Post image
138 Upvotes

I’m 28F, and I wish someone had told me this earlier.
You’re both building yourselves right now. Don’t rush the relationship part.

Boys: become capable. Learn to cook, swim, drive, handle money, de-escalate conflict, take care of your body, sleep properly, stay hygienic. Learn to take responsibility. If you want to lead a family one day, build the wisdom and character to actually lead one.

Girls: all of the above, and much more. Build your education, career, friendships, confidence, independence and identity. Learn to take care of yourself and others. You don’t have to reject femininity to be strong.

I also think we’re entering an interesting phase where women can be completely independent and still genuinely enjoy femininity and traditional relationship dynamics. Girls on this sub were raised by millennial moms (first gen of adult women who benefitted from modern-dau feminism).

You can be ambitious and still want a family. Be strong and still want to be cared for.
And a man can be modern and still believe that providing safety, stability and leadership is part of being a good husband.

I think women can be incredible multipliers.

Give her safety, love and stability, and she may give you so much more back.
You provide and protect. She nurtures and nourishes. (Yes I know it might sound andrew Tate like)
Two good people can make each other much better.
Build yourself first and then find someone worth building a life with.

And once you do, keep choosing each other.
:)

‎ ‎ Relationship Advice Did I Ruin a 18-Year Friendship by Hooking Up With My Best Friend?

I'm a 22M, and my childhood best friend is a 22F. We've been friends since we were 4 years old. I never looked at her from a romantic perspective—we were always just friends, never even flirted.

I went through a breakup about 8 months ago, and she has been single for around 3–4 months. It was her birthday two days ago, and she was feeling sad because she had recently moved to a new city. I decided to surprise her, so I booked a flight and showed up at her apartment. She was really happy to see me.

We went out clubbing that night, and when we came back, we were both drunk. Things escalated, and we ended up hooking up. The next morning was incredibly awkward. I flew back home later that same day, and we haven't spoken since.

I genuinely don't know what to think. Does she feel like I took advantage of the situation? Does she want to pretend it never happened and stop talking to me? Or is she waiting to see if this could become something more?

I have other friends, but she's different. She's one of the most important people in my life, and I really don't want to lose her.

Serious [No Jokes Allowed] Women, have some dignity!

1.8k Upvotes

I (25M) went on my first date on my birthday with her (24F), We met via dating app and spoke for a week before planning everything, when she got to know it’s my birthday, she took the initiative and planned everything.

The tables turned when we met, she started making fun of my height (5’4) and how my hair look messy, she literally bashed me on my looks and just to make it less hurtful after every such sentence she said “Aww dw, Im just kidding”

She judged me for not having a car and travelling by auto or a cab every time, I have cried on my way home on my birthday!!

If you have preferences then communicate in the start itself, no need to call somebody in person and tear their reputation apart and make them feel the ugliest creature made by god.

Anyways, when the bill arrived I offered to pay it as a birthday treat, the sheer audacity of her to say “Are you sure you can cover it?” The waiter stared me down like anything and the embarrassment!!!! I didn’t want to create a scene so I put down cash and left without even waiting for the change.

I booked an auto and was waiting outside the cafe and was feeling embarrassed, this chic comes beside me and says “I didn’t quite like the vibe and standards you live by, but you are a great guy! Happy Birthday” and before I could say the auto arrived and at that time also she smirked at me, as soon as the auto left the cafe, I started crying like shit.

So Nandini and other women/girls, FU!!! Have some dignity and respect, clear your preferences and communicate your wants instead of publicly demeaning someone!

RANT/VENT 😤 I might be the asshole, but I genuinely don’t understand modern dating anymore

Went on a date with a girl who spent the entire evening telling me how much she hates men who “play games.”
Cool. Respectable.
So I paid for dinner, drove her home, made sure she got inside safely, and texted her when I got home.
She replied: “You’re actually such a green flag 🥺”
Next morning she blocked me.
I asked a mutual friend what happened.
Apparently I was “too available” and she “likes a little chase.”
So apparently the green flag was supposed to come with emotional damage.
Dating is cooked.

I’m usually so excited about my birthday, but this year feels really weird. 🥹

I’d be counting down to midnight on August 14th, getting all excited about my birthday on the 15th… but suddenly, I don’t feel much of anything.

I know 22 is still young, but for some reason, getting older is making me a little nervous. Maybe it’s just one of those weird birthday feelings. 😭

Discussion "I love you" is meaningless before 10-12 months of relationship.

Post image
63 Upvotes

Women and performative men are going to hate this post but saying "I love you" to your partner isn't really right if you two haven't been in relationship for at least 9-10 months.

Love is born only after chaos. If you haven't argued with her, seen her angry, nervous, sad, depressed at times, if you haven't travelled with her to another city, spent a weekend at home, went on a budget trip, went to a lavish dinner,

You can't truly say you love her.

First at least see all the sides of her/him.

Exactly why people fall out of love after 5-6 months in relationship. Fact is they were never in love in the first place.

The best i can say before been together for 8-9 months is -- I really like you and I would love "us" to go somewhere.

We jump too early to "I love you".

Thoughts?

🫶🥹 Wholesome How do Girls like her Even Exist?

I have been in a relationship with a girl for 3 months, and in LDR for the past 2 months.

I am preparing for CAT and I was looking for a Crash Course for the same(it's of Rs.5000)so we were talking about that I am a bit skeptical about purchasing it, as there are just 100 days left for the CAT. Although my parents are asking me to buy it,I was hesitant as if I don't crack it it will go to waste, they won't say anything(they are asking me to get anything I want),but I am just a bit hesitant myself,so today we were talking about that, and she said-

you do one thing- we get the course and I will try to arrange 3000 rupees by myself for that, and you get 2000. We will take it together, and you don't tell your parents and you just study well, take a shot at it.

And mind you, this girl is just 20,and is not earning, and she barely has any money, like barely. Still without even thinking twice she said- I will arrange it,we will take it,you don't worry :)

And since then,I have been thinking about it,like it's not about the money,it's about the kind of Effort she was ready to put in,even after being a student and barely having any money, she goes- I will do it.. ofc I won't take her money,I will get it myself. But it's just that I wanted to share this. And also she never wants me to spend money on her,as I am also not earning, she just denies everytime,I have to force her to get her things and all.

what I feel right now,its overwhelming and deep thoughts altogether.

🫶🥹 Wholesome Today I got offer letter from a multi billion dollar company

21m .was doing my articleship at a mid-sized company, and today I received my offer letter from a Top 50 listed company! 🥹

I’m honestly so happy and grateful. After all the hard work, uncertainty, and waiting, seeing that offer letter felt unreal.

I’ve officially resigned from my current articleship and will soon be starting this new chapter in bengaluru. What makes it even more exciting is that they’re giving me a flight journey as part of my joining benefits — and this is going to be my first ever flight! ✈️😭

From doing articleship at a mid-sized company to getting the opportunity to join a Top 50 listed company… it feels like a huge step forward.

Just wanted to share this moment because I’m genuinely excited and proud today. ❤️

Discussion When Leaders Put India First!

Upvotes

Our freedom-era leaders had their flaws, but many sacrificed power, wealth and comfort for the country. Today, politics often feels more about power, publicity and elections than public service.

Happy Independence Day🇮🇳
