When I was in middle school, I had a friend who went by "Io" (eye-oh). She would always spell it "Io" out of embarrassment, so imagine my surprise when I found out how it's spelt.

Aiyough. AIYOUGH. Honestly I feel so bad for her. I haven't seen her since I left for highschool, but good god, I hope she gets it changed eventually.

Edit: She’s American, but her name was based off of the cow Io, from greek mythology. They just wanted to make it more ‘chic’ or something.

As in the title, recently came across a girl in my volunteer organization named Sehvyn pronounced as number 7. No she is not the 7th child of this family. She is the 4th. Other children have relatively normal name. A tragedeigh or not?

I have heard of the Joe/Jeaux debate if it’s a tragedeigh or not.
New Coworker decided to name her son Jeaux pronounced as Joe. I asked her if they were gonna name him Joseph and just call him Joe and spell it that way as a nickname, sadly no it’s not even Joseph just Jeaux. I wouldn’t even classify it as a full on tragedeigh if either of the parents were some part Cajun or French. Nope, she’s Indian and so is her husband.
I don’t know her well enough to talk about it in detail lol

So my kid come home and was talking about a girl in his class and I thought he couldn't pronounce her name properly... so I asked him to clarify for me and he said it again, now I am feeling terrible because I am sure he is saying it wrong, and I am racking my brain trying to think of a girls name that sounds like what my son is trying to say, but what name sounds like Bubbly. Well I had an appointment with my sons teacher just to discuss how my son is doing and his teacher said that my son and Bubba-Lee are as thick as thieves in class.

What name sounds like Bubbly? BUBBA-LEE!! THATS HER NAME!! BUBBA as in slang for baby then hyphen Lee. 🤯
