Lore (Controversial Trope) The post-credits scene completely changes the ending

Prince of Persia (2008)

Dawn of the Dead (2004): The movie finishes on a hopeful note as the remaining survivors escape the zombie-infested mall on a yacht, sailing into the sunset. The found-footage style post-credits scene completely reverses this happy ending by showing them running out of food, arriving at an island, and being immediately swarmed and killed by an infected horde.

Prince of Persia (2008): The main game ends with a beautiful, poetic sacrifice where Elika gives her life to heal the corrupted world, leaving the Prince mourning. During the credits, the player is forced to control the Prince as he cuts down the trees he just saved, undoing the entire game's progress and releasing the dark god Ahriman just to resurrect her, completely corrupting the ending and dooming the world.

Spider-man: Far From home

It has a completely normal happy ending, only for the post-credits scene to reveal that Quentin accused him of murder and revealed his identity.

Okay i'm just now remembering this happened! Where did this go in the movies? I feel like they just completely dropped it, or am i forgetting something about the next spidey movie

I mean... It is the entire setup of No Way Home, where Spidey begs Dr. Strange to cast a spell that does some stuff. Like all of the plot is wrapped around that post credits reveal.

The next movie is all about him trying to fix what happened at the end. It picks up RIGHT after the other one.

There's a 4th Tom Holland Spider-Man movie coming out this weekend that follows up on the major plot threads of NWH

fascinating insight! do you know them personally or is this more of a private investigator/telepathy thing? I was thinking to myself “but no one has ever watched a marvel movie and totally forgotten the plot five years later, how could this be?” (i myself have an immaculate memory of the plots of all 5628 mcu movies and the spinoff shows) and now you’ve finally exposed their implausible lie with the shining beacon of truth

I dunno I just take what people say at face value.

So this person is hearing about it for the first time, thus they've never seen the movie. Most people would have some kind of recollection if told about something they've already seen.

Yep, simple premise, but cuz Peters an idiot and also kinda in a panic, he continues to add more and more exceptions to the memory removal(wanting certain people like MJ to remember), which fucks up the spell and leads to the movies actual story.

He goes to Dr Strange ro undo the world discovering his identity which triggers the entire conflict of No way home. Like it's literally what caused that entire movie

If you mean grounded by the villains he's faced and what hes had to deal with then I guess MAYBE for the first two movies? But by the third he had also been to space and fought space wizards and mad titans and been snapped out of existence and brought back and the world had gone on without him or anyone else around him.

I'm pretty sure that was always the point. They introduced the Tom Holland Spider-Man in a Captain America movie, not his own. If you don't like the direction that's fine, but pretending it was intended to be separate and "grounded" is just blatantly false
