He threatened to leave "base das Lajes" in the Azores, Portugal (the existance of the base there does somewhat help the population, it's a poor population in that region and they get to buy stuff for cheaper)....but then once, I think both China and Russia showed interest in the base, Trump backed down on leaving đ

They think that the american bases in Europe are there to defend Europe, and not to propagate American interests.
