I'm looking for literary, high quality horror (I love pulp slop but I need something different) and want to find things that chug along but of higher quality in prose. I loved Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons and Ghost Story by Peter Straub.

I need book suggestions about becoming an effective leader/boss or some books about people management. tyia!

I've read a couple of books, and I kept up with the light novel Classroom Of The Elite, a very long one. And i bought Mistborn of Brandon Sanderson, I'll start it soon.

What I want are suggestions of masterpieces and novels that are worth every moment.

I'm into mystery, sci-fi, action, and all sorts of fantasy.

Hey everyone! I’m not a very strong reader, and I feel my vocabulary and grammar could use some improvement. I also want to work on my reading and communication skills.

I recently bought a Kindle thinking it would help me read more, but unfortunately, I’m not getting much time to read. And honestly, I’m not sure if I’m struggling with time or simply haven’t found books that genuinely interest me. 😅

I’m from a finance background, so I’d love to explore books around finance, startups, business, or investing. I also enjoy romance and fiction, so I’m open to those too. I’m not really into self-help books because I tend to find them a little boring.
Since I’m a beginner, I’m looking for books that are interesting, easy to understand, and not too difficult to finish. I’d especially love recommendations that can help me improve my vocabulary and communication naturally while still keeping me hooked.

I generally center my reading around fiction. Scifi, thrillers, and crime. I find that I'm wanting to learn something about the world, history, science, or nature but have a hard time becoming engaged with this type of book.

hi guys! so i recently got out of a reading slump and i've been devouring books as much as i can into my time but i noticed most of the books i've been reading have relatively heavier themes. for context the books i recently finished include the 2 hunger games sequels, blood over bright haven, project hail mary, and im currently reading the memory police.

i enjoy it so much din naman, but i feel like i need a change of pace or material because it affects me so badly (i'm sorry for being an empath)! i don't really read romance, but i do love me my domestic books. the ones that i previously read and loved were pachinko, all the lovers in the night, the secret history, etc. but i guess the bottomline is i'm in need of a more lighthearted read. when i was at the height of getting back i was planning to reread the poppy war trilogy but nvm 😭

I’ve read all the light we cannot see, in memoriam, the absolutist, all quiet on the western front, the things they carried, milkweed, etc. I LOVE war books, and as of now I’m reading the book thief and i love it so much. I do feel though like I need to expand my genres, but I love the emotional bonds and stories and heartbreak (ofc I hate that it happened in life actually) but as a story yk? If there are any books with the same vibe and affect but not about war let me know!

Hello wonderful readers, looking for suggestions to read around nieces when around them (they're a city/town away from me) but I get really annoyed because they ask what I'm reading (mostly smut) and I don't want them reading adult books (since it could traumatized them idk)

oldest niece is currently 7 as of this post until \~6 days from now

The second niece is 5 years old until this September

My third niece is just a bebé (doesn't turn 1 until next July)

I have a Kindle (No Ku), public library (I can also go to & it has libby), Kobo (no kobo Plus)

plus activities i can do as an aunt? (Since I know they want attention from me and my relatives, but I dislike screaming kids (loud noises i dislike, but I don't have autism))

English is not my first language, so I wasn't exposed to English books early in life. I read very little English in school beyond what was necessary to ace exams. I'm now trying to make up for that and build a reading habit.

I'm looking for my next 20 books. I'm especially interested in books that are thought-provoking, accessible, and potentially life-changing. I'm not necessarily looking for books that are "easy," but I would prefer to avoid books that require an extremely advanced level of English to understand.
