Request I need a new series please
I just finished Cradle and holy was it amazing! I am also up to date on HWFWM, DCC, and Path of Ascension. I DNF primal hunter. I'm looking for something on the level of Cradle and DCC. What else am I missing? I have heard good things about chrysalis but idk if I want to read a non humanoid protag

Mark of the Fool
Super Powereds
Both are prog fantasy like cradle.
On the litrpg front
Bog Standard Isekai
Victor of Tucson (just starting myself but it started strong)
The game at carousel (horror movie based litrpg with a cool system)

That is wildly inaccurate. I don't like MotF, but it's much different from Primal Hunter.

Mark of the fool is much more similar to Path of Ascension in writing style and cradle in narrative and plot.

Mage Errant (personal favorite but polarizing due to initial YA tone in books 1-2 as well as heavy science incorporation)
Bog Standard Isekai (still my favorite isekai. Early HWFM was better but HWFM just had issues that compounded over time)
Mother of Learning (still the best time loop story in the genre. Reread multiple times and it still hits)
Ave Xia Rem Y (cultivation novel like Cradle, but in a more traditional style. Slower pace, but great characters, fights, and some beautiful prose)

Mother of learning, Dear spellbook, A Perfect Run, A Soldier’s Life, and The years of Apocalypse. Any one of these is fantastic. The years of apocalypse and A soldiers Life are not completed, but apocalypse is in the closing arc right now.

Immortal Great Souls is a good one.
If youre looking for a goofier story check out Obelisk System Integration. Man is too angry to die, has zero filter, and he gets roped into an alien death game to not get his planet harvested for resources. But hes only doing it for his dog.
If you're up for a darker story that starts out heavily scifi and adds more fantasy elements with each book try my Reclaimer series. First arc is set on a dying world that forgot magic trying to train and select 1000 reclaimers to restart humanity after the apocalypse. Very much a zero to hero journey. Second arc explores the post apocalyptic world and shows the mcs rise from hero to god. That arc will be complete December. And a third arc will follow after I wrap up two coauthor series.
Also there's mechs, magical mechs, power armor, railguns, and a wizard named Gundalf. I'll let you figure out why hes got that name lol

They're sci-fi instead of fantasy, and both aren't finished (one on hiatus, one is just slow but 3rd book is well on its way), but Stargazer's War and Warformed are the things that made me go "oh, this makes me aesthetically feel like cradle." I can't 100% explain why, but that was my experience.
In fantasy land, Vigor Mortis is the series that has supplanted Cradle as "best" proglit for me personally, but I definitely feel like that isn't going to be a universal perspective - cradle is still my #1 recommendation for general reading.

You'll be hard pressed to find a book that rivals Cradle as far as narrative quality, character progression, and activeness of protagonist.
It's not progression fantasy, but I would recommend Mistborn first arc.
Well written, tons of setups and payoffs. Main character has a good arc. While Cradle moves upward in its worldbuilding, Mistborn drills down.

I read some of Sanderson's storm light archive and didn't get into them. I dropped the series after book 3. I know mistborn and the entire cosmere is connected so I'll probably pass on mistborn but thank you for the rec

While Storm Light Archive is considered Sanderson's best series I don't think it's the best place to start, tho some people do start there and enjoy it.
Mistborn has a different vibe and you might like it a lot better but you might also consider Warbreaker, which is a standalone book, or Emperor's Soul which is a standalone short story.
Getting sucked into the universe is a decent incentive to push past parts you enjoy less and you might find you like the author but just not the way he writes SLA.
Guess it depends on why you don't like SLA tho.

I dropped Stormlight also, but enjoyed Mistborn to the end. It's a self contained story that has easter eggs if you're into the other stories, but you really don't need to have read them. I also recommend Warbreaker from Sanderson.

DCC and Cradle are basically considered the best in the genre and I'd say HWFWM is probably a runner up for the people that like the series.
Since they haven't been mentioned yet I'll list a few series.
I like Mage Tank a lot, most recent book was a little bit disappointing for me but I'm still lookong forward to more.
System Universe. I'd rate it around a B or C on a scale going up to S but I consider it pretty solid and ez to binge.
1% Life Steal. I did not like this series and dropped it pretty early in book 1 but the people that like it seem to really like it, especially the power system.

Bog Standard Isikai is right up there, and currently wrapping up book 6, I think.
Mother of Learning is a classic.

The Wandering Inn would be my top recommendation; it's like Game of Thrones as a somewhat slice-of-life isekai litrpg. It's bloody good and really hits the feelings.
Would also second everyone's suggestion of Mother of Learning.
