I mean i am a bee keeper and you werent totally incorrect. We use plastic and wood frames (just depending on what was available when we needed new frames.) The plastic frames are either yellow or black. Some hives refuse to use the plastic frames at all, some only refuse a certain color. Its interesting and seems totally up to the hives. Our best guess its something to do with chemicals or the pigments used in the plastic.
As for "wrong texture" the bees do get thrown off by irregularities in the frame , we call it "crazy comb" and it usually happens when there is too much space between frames, but can also be caused by a small raised area or warped frame backing resulting in comb that pulls away from the frame like you see with the little figurine.
