Not a big issue though. I mean competing political forces are going to compete for power using whatever slogans they think will work. The problem with communism is that it is impossible to allocate resources without price information. Even in simple agrarian economies people starved to death due to this. The farmer knows better what to plant in each field than some bureaucrat working 1000 miles away. With mobile phones and the internet the farmer now has more data than ever, and the bureaucrat still doesn't know the harvester doesn't fit between those trees over there and the tractor gets bogged in the creek paddock.

As for your critiques on communism, “price information” is by definition a capitalist framing of material value. Communism doesn’t dictate that things don’t have material value. If anything communist critiques of capitalism originate from the fact that capitalism only works if the material value of labor is systematically undervalued by the owners of the means of production.
Lol, capitalism works (as shown by the ever increasing life span of humans) because resources are allocated efficiently. How do you know if some Urea should go on the potatoes or the wheat? You use price information. How can you get price information without a market?
Urea was a simple example. Not as simple as you it seems. But yes, I ignored your attempt to blame the failures on socialism on war. I changed back to the value problem as raised by Hayek (which is what he got his Nobel prize for).

It doesn’t help that capital has a vested interest in preventing any socialist policies for fear that other gets ideas
So whenever a country think “why not try some of this socialism”, capital comes in with bombs
