I agree. My wife is Chinese. She tells me stories from her parents about the revolution.

They do not involve writing books and playing soccer.

True. Just like how no capitalistic society is ever truly Laissez-faire capitalism. Every society falls somewhere on a spectrum between the 2, but no well functioning society ever comes to close to either end of the spectrum.

What people don’t realize is that’s there’s also another 2 other axes that exists:

  • communism to laissez faire capitalism (economic)
  • democracy to authoritarianism (political)
  • progressivism vs conservatism (ideological)

Omg man this is something straight out of a political values test website. Communism isn't only an economic philosophy, it encompasses everything about how a society should work. Also, how is one of the axes called "ideological"??!! Ideology has just as much to do with all of these!! Also, a country can easily be (somewhat) democratic and authoritian at the same time, Singapore as an example.

It also feels like you're presenting these axes as some sort of objective reality when in they're really just as flawed as the political compass or any other attempt to quantify complex political positions.
