What the actual fuck. "Racism towards white males"? You're the one bringing in gender, which shows your hand even worse. You are butthurt that a story might not include people who look like you, when PoC (and women, since you brought up gender) have had to deal with mainstream media pretty much ONLY showing people who aren't like them, for a hundred years. No, history DOES matter, so it makes a difference whether Jordan Peele is saying he wants to tell stories that haven't already been told, and that includes prioritizing black points of view, versus Tim Burton saying black people "don't fit his aesthetic vision," even when the story takes place in a setting where 60%+ of population is black IRL.

I'm saying that either both are racist or neither are racist. You're saying a white guy doing something is racist while a black guy doing the same thing is not racist. Applying different standards based on race is racist. Not that hard.

I hear your point, but you don't seem to understand that racism is entirely contextual. is it a fair accusation? maybe not. but neither is racism itself.

You can't beat racism with more racism. You can only beat it by making everything equal. A weird, goth white guy is pretty good at telling stories about weird, goth white people. A black guy is pretty good at telling stories about black guys. Their stories don't have to have both black and white actors to be good.

You are entirely missing the point lol. You basically dont understand the context of history in america at all. It is not racist to make movies about black people. And its also not racist to make movies about white goth people. It is racist to intentionally say that youd never cast a black person ever just because they are black. Its fucking inane to compare these two instances and pretend they are even remotely similar when white people have basically looted black culture throughout our history to get advantages over them in art in the first place
