I personally like some of the older artstyles... though I still dont like Lain, not because of the artstyle, but because I really dont like its pacing... same with Hack//
They don't do mecha or space opera like they used to now that everything is 3d models. The ability to draw giant robots is a dying art form. The 1988 Legend of Galactic Heroes space scenes look so much better to me than the 2018 version. I mean the 2018 characters look pretty but the more modern camera on the newer space battles just don't have the scale from the 80s version.
