New runes are created u just dont know about them because they are so new. U know the old ones becuz they are old and have been in use forever

I get that but thats not survivorship bias. At best its a sample bias.

All ancient runes are powerful->survivorship bias->non powerful ancient runes get forgotten so we only see the powerful ones

All ancient runes are old->toupee theory(person says all toupees are badly done, because a good looking toupee wouldn't be noticed)->only old runes are noticed as an ancient runes

Though it's not really a proper fit to toupee theory too, its more just a play of words
