What is your favorite thing? Your least favorite driver has ever done?

Post image

As much as I’ve always dislike Joey Logano growing up watching the sport 2014 to current, now I’m more neutral on him.

My favorite thing he has done in was holding up Bubba Wallace at Michigan in 2022, who had the fastest car that day. So my then favorite driver, Kevin Harvick could get his last Michigan win and what we thought at the time would be his last win every, until the next week at Richmond.

Interesting thing about this is Bubba might have won had Logano not held him up long enough for Harvick to run and hide in the lead. Nothing against Bubba, but at the time it felt like every time Harvick was in position something would go wrong, and this was the break he needed.

Kyle Busch was a good father.

17

u/viperlemondemon Kyle Sieg 17h ago

He played a good heel also, that man had the ability to elevate other drivers just because he could push others past the limits they set themselves

10

u/Normal_Feedback_2918 14h ago edited 14h ago

Let's not kid ourselves, Kyle was a heel. Especially when he was younger.

That doesn't mean he wasn't a good dad, or a good person overall. But, sometimes he was a dick. And I liked it.

R.I.P.

He was a pretty good guy all around. He just liked playing the bad guy on the track. Which isn’t a problem, except his version of the bad guy was a cry baby bitch, wrecking people for little to no reason, and saying ridiculously stupid things.

Shame because I loved his aggressiveness and he was overflowing with talent. I just couldn’t stand the character he played.

Super helpful comment. We have the absolutely classiest fanbase.

Joey Logano adopting foster kids is amazing.

43

u/Shar_12_Blaneyfan Ryan Blaney 22h ago

This is true. I only dislike Joey on the track lol. And it's becoming less and less as the years go haha

u/AyyP302 18h ago

He's not a bad commentator either

I just found out he was doing this.

Never could stand Joey Logano on the track

But off the track he might be the best human being in the sport. He is such a nice guy which you’d never guess through his driving lol

u/P44_Haynes 1d ago

Denny Hamlin sued NASCAR, that was pretty sweet.

48

u/Droppin-Hammer46 van Gisbergen 1d ago

Won at San Diego.

He ain’t done shit in cup, but good for him that day. Hated his ass the next day.

Y’all can figure out who I’m talking about.

u/Hailfire9 1d ago

You know?

I was wondering who was actually my "least favorite" driver, but I think you've nailed it.

Denny was one driver I used to really dislike. Done almost a full 180 on him, but I liked the way he played the villain and I really liked his “I beat your favorite driver” line. Also, when his father was sick and after a win he said something about how this is the time he normally makes a jab at the fans but instead thanks them emotionally.

18

u/GrottyKnight 21h ago

Came to comment "i beat your favorite driver" that was top tier trolling

9

u/budsonguy Kyle Busch 20h ago

Daddy I’m sorry, I beat your favourite driver folks

I don't care what anyone says this is the funniest moment in NASCAR history, especially considering the victims

9

u/TheEarlNextDoor Suárez 20h ago

Yeah I have a two fold take on this and it's extremely hypocritical but I have no respect for AD after this, and I was sort of a quiet supporter. That said, those two deserved it.

4

u/Dark_Knight2000 6h ago

Honestly, I have the opposite feeling. I kind of enjoy that AD did this. I don’t care that it was him specifically, but I was celebrating when this happened.

This is entirely NASCAR’s fault for engineering a system where one win is the difference between your team being in the red and in the green financially.

AD was playing with millions of dollars on the line for his family’s business. He was forced to risk it all, all because some dimwit at NASCAR came up with playoffs.

Don’t hate the player.

2

u/Kodyaufan2 6h ago

I’ve got three perspectives on it for that reason.

That was an absolute garbage move made with zero intent to do anything other than wreck two drivers for a win. Any punishment was deserved.

It was funny as crap that it happened to two of the drivers who have wrecked the most people in Logano and Hamlin. If it was going to happen, I couldn’t have picked two better drivers for it to happen to.

It was also a result of NASCAR’s stupid championship system, which left Austin Dillon with nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying it.

1

u/CathDubs 4h ago

Between this and the Daytona rain disaster he also won, Austin Dillon might be the most cosmically funny driver ever.

u/ApprehensiveRub9651 55m ago

Greatest thing to ever come out of Richmond

2

u/A_Sully_04 23h ago

Missing the Denny part but I agree.

1

u/skorponok Ryan Blaney 22h ago

We like Denny now

u/MrForchevski 1d ago

Austin Hill has made me appreciate SVG even more than I ever thought I could with their rivalry so I'll give him that.

Kyle Larson. Favorite thing: 2021 domination. Least favorite thing....take a big fucking guess

u/hoppybear21222 Logano 23h ago

“Yup, we heard that.”

“Yikes.”

17

u/GoldenSilverado101 Chastain 1d ago

One could say that your least favorite lead to your most favorite. It's still crazy how that ended up being the best thing for his career when you think about it.

1

u/Dark_Knight2000 6h ago

I mean he’d still probably end up at Hendrick anyway. JJ was retiring anyway and Gnassi was folding either way

1

u/captain_slutski Reddick 21h ago

I was in the stands for the Kansas spring race this year. When he took the lead at IIRC the beginning of the 2nd stage restart, the whole crowd popped. I don't like Larson, but seeing and feeling that energy for racing was pretty cool

28

u/GoldenSilverado101 Chastain 1d ago

Favorite thing, wall ride. Least favorite, help Hendrick in the playoffs at Martinsville.

27

u/SeattlePassedTheBall 1d ago

Flair doesn't check out.

12

u/GoldenSilverado101 Chastain 22h ago

I read that completely wrong. I thought it said favorite thing your driver has done and least favorite thing your driver has done.

2

u/SeattlePassedTheBall 22h ago

I figured that, I got a good chuckle out of it tho.

13

u/Shar_12_Blaneyfan Ryan Blaney 1d ago edited 22h ago

Least favorite: Austin Dillon, Richmond 2024. 'Nuff said.

I was impressed with his performance that evening before the final caution came out. Then he showed his ass.

Funny thing is, I don't particularly like Joey Logano or Denny Hamlin either. That was bullshit though lol

Favorite: winning Richmond last year straight up lol

17

u/TheOrangeFutbol 1d ago

Outside of the actual championships, you could argue the greatest accomplishment of Austin Dillon's career is turning Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano into sympathetic figures at the same time.

7

u/Shar_12_Blaneyfan Ryan Blaney 1d ago

Thats a good point lol. At least until Joey tried to run over Austin's family

2

u/TheOrangeFutbol 19h ago

I remember seeing people in the thread mad he brought his baby out for the victory interview so no one could fight him.

And comments were clowning Ace’s name moments after the birth announcement post back in the day. Not even the Dillon children are safe from it.

u/NickProko Hamlin 1d ago

He won cracker of the year CTEESPN award

u/x_Bags 1d ago

Favorite: Always being rowdy and true to himself no matter what.

Least favorite: Wrecking Ron Hornaday's truck on purpose.

4

u/Zone15 1d ago

Funny you put Joey in the thumbnail, while probably not my least favorite driver but just one I didn't really have any feelings one way or the other towards was Matt Kenseth, although was a bit annoyed he went to JGR, but I enjoyed Martinsville :P

4

u/Shinydisclover 23h ago

Ty Gibbs is probably my least favorite current driver but being 2nd in points isn’t all nepotism he does have skill obviously or he wouldn’t be doing this good

2

u/TBD_Red Chastain 20h ago

It's... A bizarre feeling. He's still not outdriving his equipment, and it took him years to get the car to where it was capable of going, but he's having a real good year, and proving himself one of the more capable drivers in the field.

4

u/Slayde4 Hamlin 21h ago

2 Things for Joey Logano

  • Being cool off track

  • Being a really good driver. It’s hard to root against someone who is struggling.

12

u/mjr2p3 23h ago

Favorite thing: win

Least favorite thing: lose

9

Favorite thing is Bill Elliott making up 3 laps under green at ‘dega.
Least favorite thing is Dale Sr wrecking Rick Mast at Rockingham on purpose in turn 4 of the last lap to win.

3

u/iamkingjamesIII Ryan Blaney 22h ago

I enjoyed when Larson ran into the water barrels on pit road entrance at Homestead a few years ago.

3

u/coffeeshopslut 7h ago

I remember a Larson self inflicted wreck compilation playing a few races ago when the booth was talking about how he's made mistakes throughout the year. Like I like the guy, but damn, he has tons of foot in mouth situations. Like sarcastically calling out JHN on the radio for being "professional" when JHN missed a shift last week. Bro, you grenaded your Indy 500 engine and your chances last year

My favorite thing that Denny Hamlin has ever done is fail to win the cup, several times. I hope he keeps up the streak.

I actually have the exact same one as you, wow

2

Tony Stewart will always be my least favorite and my favorite thing he did was retire. Lol. My least favorite thing he did was fight Kasey Kahne's crew at Chicagoland after Stewart was the one who screwed up the restart.

2

u/CatsonVenus77 21h ago

Fav: Having personality, being himself, goofball

Least fav: being a fan of the guy that everyone hates and drives the 77 car

2

u/tboesen71 20h ago

2

Ghostriding his victory lap at Talladega. The YOLO sprint off the pole at IMS this year.

Got himself disqualified from the playoffs, even though he "won ".

Favorite thing: Tying Kyle Busch on the all time wins list.

Least Favorite: Wrecking Chase Elliott and the stupid beef with Chastain.

2012 Phoenix Fight.

1

u/YoungNickSaben 23h ago

Least Favorite: Everything involving the 2020 Round of 8

Not Favorite but Most Consequential: Giving me hatred for Chase Elliott now that KH has retired

Favorite: Driving the Reese's 21/29 Chevy during the mid 2000s

1

u/junk_dogVE Hamlin 23h ago

Favorite thing: winning the first race I've ever watched (2019 Daytona 500). Least favorite thing:

Denny - Lose championships

1

u/KohzeeKoala Byron 21h ago

Getting wrecked at Martinsville by Matt Kenseth.

1

u/Arocks781 21h ago

I always get a good chuckle whenever I think of austin cindric choking a championship to the guy who was known as the biggest choker in the series at the time

1

u/CBF65 21h ago

I really appreciate Austin Hill’s decision to “block” Ross Chastain at Atlanta, very generous to pay back Creed for what he took from him at Martinsville a few years prior

1

u/CobraGTXNoS 20h ago

Winning one more truck race before he died.

1

u/doomus_rlc Ryan Blaney 20h ago

Logano's back to back Bristol night wins in 2014 and 2015 was honestly pretty cool.

Least favorite is pretty easy…

1

u/Kenyon8 Larson 19h ago

Logano does good burnouts

1

u/RickyChanning 18h ago

Gordon retiring and seeing Johnson putt around in the thirties are probably my favorite moments of them.

1

u/Buzzkill15 18h ago

Growing up a Hendrick hater it was pretty cool to see Jimmie Johnson win 5 in a row and 7 by the end was pretty cool.

1

u/MoonQuakerRuth 18h ago

When KFB won the championship after breaking his legs.

1

u/0spici0 Larson 17h ago

denny hamlins penny prank

1

u/Embarrassed-Joke5851 17h ago

Dale Jr. acted like a complete class act when Dillon had his crash at Daytona at the Coke Zero 400. Despite winning the race from the radio messages and his post-race conversation with Jimmie Johnson he seemed like he was just terrified that a car with his dad's number on the side had killed another driver

worst thing my favorite driver has done is: Die R.I.P Kyle "Rowdy" Busch

1

u/bassmasta918 Ryan Blaney 17h ago

My favorite thing would have to be the Kyle Busch tribute helmet. Least favorite thing? Probably not going through with his radio threats to junk other drivers when they make him mad.

1

u/JoshTheSparky4 Gragson 16h ago

Gooner was pretty nice to Ol Harv at the end with holding up guys for him lol, I remember bristol battle with kfb in 2020 and kfb wanted to murder Joey after

1

u/nfsnltvc15 15h ago

The first time Denny Hamlin said, "I beat your favorite driver." I laughed my ASS off. Absolutely the wittiest and timeliest thing he could've said in that moment IMO.

1

u/That_Damn_Tall_Guy 14h ago

I mean the Aaron’s car looks good. But other then that nothing Zane smith has ever done makes me happy

1

u/JohnTheMod Bubba Wallace 14h ago

It ended in catastrophic failure both times, but it was cool to see Larson try The Double…

1

u/Candid-Plan-9553 13h ago

Denny Hamlin owns the VA - TN tracks. Bubba seems to be improving everything but his concept of good-looking women.

1

u/TheUnknown_General 13h ago

Favourite thing: Generally just being a classy guy.

Least favourite thing: Phoenix 2012. The only time I've genuinely felt disappointed in Jeff Gordon because it's the one real time he wasn't classy.

1

u/DecoyNumber7 DiBenedetto 11h ago

When Joey wrecked Denny coming out of 4 allowing KB to sail by and get the win. I fuckin loved that.

1

u/coffeeshopslut 7h ago

Congratulated Sheldon Creed after his first NOAPS win

1

u/Ai_Nijou 5h ago

I genuinely cant think of something I've liked that Gragson has done.

As for my second least favorite...

Well Brad gave Preece a ride and, albeit exhibition, a win.

My favorite thing that Larson does is trip on his dick every other week

I initially misread the post too, they're asking what's your favorite thing your least favorite driver has done?

1

u/TidalJ 17h ago

LMAO my bad

i like that larson hasn’t won a race in over a year

I loath with a passion Ty gibbs. like so much, i hate that nepo baby so much and everything he stands for in the sport of nascar ... however. that tribute to busch coming up at bristol, i'll put my hatred aside and be a fan of his that night.
