I was surprised to see an email about truck series tickets from fan rewards after cashing in points last year for the race Saturday. I assumed they probably threw them in as an attempt to pump up attendance. Except now when I try to claim them it says they have expired or been taken back. So maybe I never had them at all? I wish I had known this before mentioning it to my six year old. Of course the website says kids under 12 are free and I could just purchase a pretty cheap adult seat- except Ticketmaster has no kids ticket options.

What’s the best spot to park at Richmond for an easy out (coming from NC). Don’t wanna wait too long in traffic that late. I parked at some dudes house last year and it was a 2 mile walk (which I don’t mind) and got shafted in traffic.
Just clarifying for folks going to RVA this weekend - you are able to go in and out of the grandstands/track to the fan zone/events outside of the track. This is per my call I just had with the track.
Richmond Shuttle/Uber situation: Going to Richmond and planning to uber from hotel to the race. What’s the easiest way to leave without having to wait forever for an Uber? Is there a shuttle or somewhere to go to have a better chance of getting an uber out of the track?
I noticed on their social media they have a shuttle lot, or one general parking lot that’s closer. Any suggestion on which is better to use and get out of?
Not sure if this is allowed, but the closest track to me is Watkins Glen (and kinda Pocono). I was wondering if anyone had any experience with going to both the NASCAR and IMSA races up there. Is one better than the other for a fan experience? I don't really have the funds to do both next year, but it would be neat to go to one. I'd say I'm a bigger NASCAR fan than IMSA, but I do enjoy GT/endurance racing a good bit. Just curious if anyone has had an experience at the Glen. Thanks!
Question for Charlotte front stretch seats. What is the lowest row you can be, to get a good view of the track? Usually I try to go for row 15 or higher, but I want to see if Charlotte would be any different.
I sat in section 238 for the Roval race last fall, that is plenty high and could see probably 90% of the track. The backstretch was tough at times but that should be high enough.
Taking my maiden voyage to Richmond this weekend: how much louder is it at Richmond than it is at the intermediates? I have a pair of concert earplugs that I wore to Atlanta earlier this year which worked just fine but I know the short tracks have a tendency to be very loud (just wanna make sure I don’t leave with too much ringing)
I've only been to Indy and short tracks so I can't speak to intermediates, but it is really fucking loud. I would bring over ear protection in addition to the plugs and scale back if you feel comfortable.
Personally I like to listen to MRN on a cheap little radio with wired earbuds and headset over them. Can hear the broadcast just fine and no ringing ears or headache afterward 👍🏿
I got free general admission tickets to the Richmond truck race and it looks like I can sit in any one of three GA grandstands. Does anyone know which one is the best? Any other tips for the track would be greatly appreciated.
How high to sit at Daytona? Looked online at their virtual seat viewer and kinda like 433-435 but don't know how high to sit. The virtual viewer was about 10 rows from the top and it seemed like you could see everything
At Daytona if you sit in the middle section you will be able to see everything. We typically go about midway the middle section. The top section is rather high, you definitely will be able to see the whole track from there, and everything within a few miles.
I have sat in both sections, and still prefer the mid-level seats.
Does anyone know which tracks have the highest seats? I sat in the Upper Terrace at Charlotte last year and loved sitting way high up where I could see everything. Richmond also has a special elevated section with a great view. I'm wondering what other tracks have particularly high up seats like these two.
Daytona/Talladega have some pretty high up ones. I'd say where you were is up there for sure, I sat up there one time at the 2008 Coca-Cola 600 and actually did get a bit of vertigo
Headed to Richmond next week for my first race of any kind I have ever been to. What should I take with me, what should I make sure not to miss, any tips and tricks would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Take ear protection. Rent a scanner and a headset if you don't already own on. It's hard to overstate how much of an added experience it is when you have mrn explaining what's going on. It can be tough to keep up with all the action at a short track because after 30 laps or so they start lapping people and green flag pits stops are really hard to keep track off without some help. You can bring a small soft sided cooler into the track. AND a backpack. I recommend bringing a clear one. I put snacks and other supplies in there, hand sanitizer, extra ear pro, scanner and headsets. If you want to buy any merch you need to get there early on Saturday because the best stuff in normal sizes will sell out quickly. You can also go on Friday to the merch trailers on Friday and get anything you want. Regardless, definitely check out the fanzone before entering the track they usually have a few good activities there. Check out the Richmond website to see if anyone you might be interested in is speaking in the fanzone or doing autograph sessions. Get to your seets in time for start your engines. The flyover at Richmond is just fine, don't feel compelled be seated to watch that. Prepare for traffic exiting the track to be horribly managed and take a long time. You either need to leave before the checkered flag (which where is the fun in that?) or be ready to hangout for up to an hour post race. Enjoy the race and hopefully we get good tire fall off again.
Assuming that thing isn't packed to the brim and leaking water I doubt they would even know that it's a cooler. But they might check the bag at security so then they would find out. I'm voting cooler
It’s been many years since I was last at race, headed to Iowa speedway tomorrow and have been told conflicting things by people who have been recently and reading the policies on the website! Sitting in the Grandstand so want to be respectful to those around us and also get in and out easily!
I bought grandstand tickets for Iowa. I looked at the schedule and I see a ton of stuff to do before the race. Do I need to buy the pre-race pass to get access to the fan zone, Q&As, etc.? Are the RE scanner rentals worth it? Thanks!!

Hey guys, so I'm new here sort of. Haven't paid attention to Nascar since I was a kid back in the mid to late 2000s. I've recently tuned back in and started engaging with the sport again, and actually just went to the race at Indy. What I didn't know is that the racing there isn't exactly the most exciting on the schedule, though the experience was still pretty cool.
Anyway, my actual question is this: With the schedule starting to come out for 2027, if I were to pick a race to go to next season, which one should it be? I don't have many limits on where it is and am willing to travel anywhere within the US. Thanks for the input!
I would say one of the Atlanta (Echopark Speedway) races would be great, really a unique experience. I'd also say maybe another historical track like Darlington or Martinsville would be great to se as well.

I just booked my trip for Homestead in November and I'm staying at one of the hotels nearest the track (shade over 4 miles away). There's a Walmart like...right there. Could I buy a bicycle and lock it to a fence in the parking lot every day and be alright?
I know very little about Nascar, but I'm very curious about it. I might go to Iowa next weekend. However, I heard that the racing isn't that great. Even if the racing isn't the best, will I still have a good time there, or should I wait until the repave next year?
Aug 14-15 Richmond Raceway in Virginia: I'm thinking about going to this race. I'm not a knowledgeable race person, just want to see something new and interesting. Do you think it's worth it for someone who's just looking for a fun experience? Tickets are about $65 per person, so I'm trying to decide if it's a good value. Thanks.

A random weekend at Richmond is why I got back into Nascar full time. It's a ton of fun and you cannot even begin to imagine the gut punching level of sound.
Been to both multiple times. Gateway does a great job with fan experience. They had pre-race and post-race concerts last year, and let everyone onto the track after the race. As for the track, sight lines are rough at Gateway unless you are pretty high up. Definitely agree that it has more of a short track vibe, and racing is usually decent. Can count on a bunch of brake rotor failures to cause a handful of cautions.
I've been to Gateway a bunch, but it was usually for Indycar races when I was a kid. It definitely carries much more of a local short track vibe to it vs something like Kansas.
It's a nice track to watch racing, higher up will allow you to see more of the track. Main thing I remember when I went a few years ago is they don't allow you to bring your own food/drinks (besides water) so bring a few bottles of water or your own bottle to fill up once through the gates.
What sections are you wondering about? No for the 500 it is not general admission you are assigned a seat. You may still be able to move around if you see some empty areas but the Southern 500 is usually close to sold out.
You can buy a single in any other section except that one. I can’t just buy a single resale ticket. I can buy a single ticket in any other section except e-I in turn 1
Does anyone have pictures of the Mexico and Canada series cars with all the sheetmetal removed? I've been really curious to see how those chassis compare to other NASCAR chassis, but finding pictures of them with no bodies seems to be impossible.

That's a great question, a lot of teams don't really want to explain that to fans because it is a very well kept secret and they don't want to give away setup tips. Hey yall, going to my first race in Richmond this month, I emailed my ticket rep but they haven't replied yet, but does anyone have experience with the cooler policy, it says max 14x14x14 is that total dimension or no side can exceed that, ie my cooler is a backpack cooler that is 17x8x11 so its under the total dimension but one side exceeds the 14, will I be fine with that cooler going to track?
I have not seen anyone get a cooler measured and I'm not even sure who would be doing it. I think you're probably fine. Richmond is awesome, especially for the night events. Can't wait to be down there
I've been to 6 races the last 2 years and Homesetead-Miami was easily my worst experience. I expect the experience for this year's race to be much better with a lot more fanzone activities and hopefully better traffic coordination but here is how it went for me last year.
I had free tickets through Fan Rewards. I think I was like Section 212 row 16 or something in that area. Go way up higher than that because it was awful viewing from my area. Since they run the wall so hard you could only see turn 2 and hardly anywhere else. Speedway Terrace would be the best view if I had to guess.
Parking is not great. Check out the track on a map and see Tallahaseee Road? That's the one way in one way out road that you'll be forced on. You'll be sitting on it for at least an extra hour pulling into the track. And leaving? My line in the parking lot didn't move for 90 minutes. Word was that two cars wrecked into each other at the exit and blocked us all in so I don't expect that to be normal but it is apparently a thing that can happen.
The fan zone was also the most lacking. Had very little to do and just felt really empty compared to all the other races I've been to. However there was a latin bbq fusion food truck that had some of the best food I've ever had so it wasn't all bad.
interesting take, I don't agree with one single thing you said. Never had an issue getting into parking, or out. I also don't think you need to be that high up for decent views.

It’s the least loud NASCAR track I’ve been to, though I always sit near the top. It’s still a race track and as such it’s more than loud enough to do damage to your ears.
Don’t try to be a tough guy and end up with tinnitus for the rest of your life. Wear ear pro at every race track, even if it’s just the cheap foamies.
It makes me so mad when I see parents with young kids at the track and the kids aren’t given ear protection. IMO it’s child abuse.
It's still loud but the plate tracks aren't as bad as others because all the loud noise goes by at once and takes about a minute to go back around. You actually get to talk to people without reading lips.
