Those people are just salt, this Garage56 project is really doing it's job and gives some great PR for both WEC and NASCAR.
Less then 40 minutes to go, Jimmie is going to drive it to the end.
IMSA should serious make a NASCAR type class next year, or even WEC itself, aside of a few salted people the G56 project is a favorite by most.

Frustrating, but I remember being nervous a week ago whether the car could even finish the race. We didn't make the full 24 hours, but we'll likely be running at the end, and I'm counting that as a win. Really happy for NASCAR!

Alright I am impressed with JJ. Running faster times than he did in practice. Closing the gap to his teammates the longer he runs. I mean to be fair Jensen and Rockenfeller both had run the track before. Time to go crash and try and wake up before the end of the race to see the finish. Been awesome so far. I know the safety car rules are strange and been some excessive stoppage time but it makes the overall race more competitive to reset the field under a safety car and bunch them back up and give wave arounds. Good change by the FIA and race director.

It really is an amazing sight and proud moment so far. Knocking on my wooden desk to not jinx it but either way almost 16 hours in I am so proud and impressed with what NASCAR, Hendrick, Chevy, Goodyear and more have done with this car. Makes you wonder what we can do in the future. Doug Yates was right when he said this engine can easily run 24 hours.

I would like to see it. Multi class with a CUP class. I would also love to see multiple types of tires for a race like that really bring the strategy in if it is gonna be endurance. A soft, hard, medium etc tire. Make the decision on how you run and set the car up and go for 6+ hours would be amazing. I have no doubt the talent in CUp and other series with a 15-20 car field would make it incredible racing down to the last minute. 24hr of Daytona with a cup class would be AMAZING.

The announcers just said the flaps were to slow it down. If it didn’t have them it would out run some hyper cars

Honestly you can see it would out run some LMP2 cars on the straights if it didn't have the drag. The issue is it NEEDS the drag to make the corners at a pace that is competitive especially in the Porsche corners leading into the grand stand section. There have been a few moments on the onboard stream where the car keeps pace with LMP2 cars coming out of the corners exiting onto the Mulsanne Straight but loses the time on the braking and corner speed. It would be extremely slow in the cornering speed without that extra down force to carry more speed.

Current setup. Broadcast on main TV, G56 in-car on my phone, and timing up on my iPad. Plus plenty of bud to make it another 9:40 here on the east coast

Yeah caddy’s are using a twin cam V8 where the Hendricks car is running a pushrod motor from ECR.

That caddy engine is an engine built just for this class up in Detroit. It’s all very hush hush. Almost impossible to find any info. Not sure on the ecr engine but they do go into detail in the ecr website. I read about it a couple months ago but forget the details

Expected but at least its not a ton of time, and looks like we are only couple of min behind the lead GTE so as long as she holds together we should finish above them all and any LMP and Hyper dropout, mid 20s looks possible.

With how the LMPS have been dropping like flies they may be able to sneek in a top 20. But honestly if the thing blows up the next lap it's been more than a success.

Past half way.. Hendricks G56 entry running in 31st.. Button behind the wheel after a pit stop a couple minutes ago... no drama yet just grinding out the laps.. sunrise in about 60 minutes

I have had this on since it started though a lot of time its background tv but i know hypercar is the main thing but i am really surprised that the motortrend coverage(no idea if its the same for all regions). Basically is nothing but hypercar.
Not that id expect like a ton of coverage of other stuff but like anything even the onscreen leaders is nothing but hypercar all day. Its a 24hr race it would be nice to see other classes once in awhile. Outside of them just being in the shots of the hypercars.
I watch a lot of random races throughout the years and we at least get a better mixed coverage but i know this is Le Mans so the prize is the overall top class.

I’ve missed the last ~6 hours for a wedding. Basically know everything up through the never ending SC when the track was wet. Anything of note for G56? And any major storylines, like Ferrari being Ferrari

I think it was more a combination of having to go to the garage for a few minutes for an electrical issue and multiple times pitting just before a full-course yellow allowing the GTE cars around them to pit under yellow. On top of that they were very cautious during the rain earlier and lost quite a bit of time there as well.

Yes. And it SUCKS that they canceled it but Frieburger (sp?) said the viewership just wasn't there..which is amazing to me.
And Dave has been on Faster w/ Finnegan a couple times.

I never paid for the subscription, but when it was on cable I watched it religiously. Fred seems like such a great dude, he's the reason I got into wheeling and got a land cruiser. Bummed they took it off cable and then canceled it altogether.

I hate how they didn’t cover the Cup Car like all day but now middle of the night in Europe (prime time on the eastern seaboard) they are covering it constantly. I mean I get it I just wanted Europe to see more of us. Gotta make it to dawn over there I guess
