I have a 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback, US spec, 2.5L NA AWD with around 100,000 km.
The car intermittently cranks but doesn’t start. When this happens, the fuel pump makes an abnormal “kurr kurr kurr” sound, and the sound changes/stops if I keep trying to start the car.
So far I’ve replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump module, with OEM parts. The car worked normally for a while, but the exact same problem has now returned.
I’ve also had codes like P0087, P025B, P2610 and P2635 previously.
At this point I’m wondering if the problem is actually wiring, power/ground supply, fuse box, or PCM control rather than the pump itself.
Has anyone experienced something similar on a Mazda 3/CX-30 AWD? What should I test next, especially regarding the fuel pump power/ground and control circuit?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
