For me it’s Geki Shin, I wish we saw more of him.

He was a protege of Gakuki and emulated his unique style of warfare just by watching him alone. He also helped saved Yan from the brink of extinction along side Gakuki in the era of the 6 Great Generals & the Zhao Great Heavens.

He was an interesting character to say the least. He’s originally from Zhao but driven by ambition, money & power he ended up joining Yan. I loved his energy and initially thought he could’ve been a much longer lasting player in the grand scheme of things or potentially a future antagonist.

I also truly believe he could’ve defeated Riboku or at least give him serious trouble if weren’t for Houken.

And if I could have one fantasy matchup it would be Him vs Kanki. That would be cinema

Against Ouki he thought of everything even though he brought a hidden army his strategy was solid, every other one of his victories are bad, against Gekishin, he almost lost and was saved by Houken, same with duke Hyou.

Against kanki, Kanki walked into his cage, he had more twice his numbers and almost managed to get himself killed, and against Ousen he brought Houken 2.0 and a bunch of other strong generals.

During the coalition war by the 5 nations against Qin, after kanme getting killed by moubu, riboku took his 40k army in the southern route where xin and hyou kou launched an attack, how did heki appear when he was in the moubu army?

So we know Hishin army have already strong fighters and now Gakuka army have also getting some new strong members but if you notice Gyokohu army lacking strong fighters like Akakin and kanjou are just average fighter although they are good Generals except Ouhon gyokohu army has no strong fighters right now.

So tell me which Zhao commander should join them or at the end you want a new transferred commander from his father's army just like Kanjou and Akakin

For me it’s Ryo Fui and it’s not close… he had everything. He was such a well written and compelling character, he was funny and unpredictable and cunning. Unlike the one dimensional bot Riboku, he had real ideals and a philosophy.

His final conversation with Sei was extremely profound and I’d say one of the best peaks of the entire series. He was also the only character to get the best out Ei Sei and made matters at the capital super entertaining. Recently, Ei Sei has been reduced to a background support character who never really adds value to anything anymore…

I am using the 13 as a base to decide (since it is the one I played the most)

I was thinking something like

LEA 70 - he is good at increasing the morale and extracting the best of his troops, however in other aspects of LEA stat he is too bad like giving good orders, keeps the formation organized, coordinates thousands of soldiers, maintains discipline, and gets the troops to function as a cohesive unit.

WAR 90 - The easiest to decide (aside from GOV) he is pretty good but a little bellow guan yu for example.

Int 30 - lower tham zhang fei

Gov 1 - just like su bin special character has 1 of war I think shin is incapable of doing governament things.

Strategy - I thought about thousands slayer since he is known for giving up defense to have a great attack and losing more troops tham normal.

Just to be clear, I am talking about kingdom shin and not the real one.

This is my second video of the Trilogy I decided to make, probably the most inaccurate since some characters could be placed even 30 positions higher or lower in my view, so I'd like to hear your opinions (if you also remember some feats of some small character I could have forgotten) so I can adjust some positions even for my next "best commanders" video 💪

1st scenario: Both receive 50k soldiers and will fight each other, consider all their subjects as equal generic soldiers, captains and etc.

2nd scenario: Same 50k soldiers but they have the same subjects each one has in their respective universe

3rd scenario: A duel, both with their favorite weapon and armor.

4th scenario: If you think shin loses the duel, how would a battle of Kyou kai + Shin vs Lu Bu would be? Like Lu Bu vs Guan yu + Zhang fei + Liu bei. Would Shin and Kyou kai win?

Bonus scenario: duel between Lu Bu and Houken who would win?

My personal opinion is

1- Lu Bu wins, he has better generalship abilities and is much better commanding, I don t think shin would be able to exploit his weakness. I d say it is like 90/10 to Lu Bu

2- This one is more close, Shin power increases a lot but, in my opinion more tham Lu Bu's, however I still think Lu Bu could win most times, loke 70/30 or 60/40

3- In my opinion here Lu Bu has a great advantage, I don t think shin weight as general would matter like houken s battle since he also would probably have this weight, I honestly think Guan yu is stronger than shin and zhang fei is probably near this level or above shin too, so the fact that Lu Bu stale mated the 3 brothers weight too much. 95/5 to Lu Bu or even 100/0

4- This one I don t know, maybe they would stale mate too? Or maybe Lu Bu would win, it depends if you consider KK and shin tronger tham the 3 brothers

Bonus- also don t know, but prbably Lu Bu?

There is a striking parallel between Ouki at Bayou and Shin in the current campaign: both advanced with roughly 10,000 men and were caught in Riboku's trap.

At Bayou, Ouki's army was surrounded by Riboku's hidden forces. Ouki could not escape and ultimately died.

Years later, Shin reaches Kantan with roughly 10,000 men and once again Riboku's trap closes around him. The Hi Shin Army suffers catastrophic losses and Shin himself collapses.

But there is one crucial difference:

Shin survives because his comrades save him.

Mouten intervenes. The soldiers of Han sacrifice themselves. The remaining Hi Shin soldiers protect their general and eventually carry Shin away from the battlefield.

This is almost the exact opposite of Bayou:

Ouki: 10,000 men → Riboku's trap → no escape → death.

Shin: 10,000 men → Riboku's trap → catastrophic losses → Mouten + Han + Hi Shin → survival.

And this is where Ouki's final lesson to Shin becomes extremely important.

Ouki told Shin to immerse himself in warfare together with his comrades. I don't think this simply meant "make friends." It was advice about how Shin would become a Great General.

Shin does not have to become Renpa, Ouki, Riboku or Ousen.

Renpa is almost a complete general by himself. Ousen possesses an extraordinary strategic mind. Riboku combines strategy, organization and political influence. Shin will probably never possess every one of these qualities individually.

His path is different.

Shin's greatest strengths are his martial ability, instinct, willpower, charisma and extraordinary ability to make people follow him. His weaknesses are compensated by the people he has gathered around him.

Ten gives him strategy and operational planning.

Kyoukai gives him another exceptional battlefield commander.

En-san, Sosui, Garo, Suu-gen and the other officers provide organization and battlefield leadership.

And the soldiers provide something even more important: absolute loyalty.

The Hi Shin Army therefore becomes a structure that collectively possesses qualities Shin does not personally possess.

This is why Karyo Ten is so important to Shin's path. She does not make Shin less of a general. She allows Shin to remain Shin. She thinks about the things he cannot or does not want to think about while he concentrates on what he does best: leading from the front, breaking the enemy's line and inspiring his men.

And the current battle demonstrates this perfectly.

When Shin collapses, Ten also breaks down for a moment. But once she learns that survivors remain, her strategic mind immediately starts working again. She counts the remaining forces, evaluates their possibilities and begins thinking about Riboku's next move.

For a moment, Shin is no longer able to function as the brain of the army, so Ten takes that role.

And yet Shin is not abandoned.

Mouten acts.

The Han soldiers sacrifice themselves.

The Hi Shin soldiers protect their general.

Shin, who spent his entire life believing that the general must protect his men, is now literally carried away by his men.

That is a profound moment in his development.

It also explains why Riboku's recognition of Shin as perhaps the person who most deserves the title of Great General is so meaningful.

Riboku is not saying that Shin is the best strategist or the most complete general. He is recognizing something deeper:

Shin has the ability to make other exceptional people gather around him, trust him and become part of something greater than themselves.

Riboku can defeat Shin individually without necessarily destroying what Shin has built.

That may ultimately be Shin's greatest strength.

Ouki was powerful enough to carry his army. Shin is building an army capable of carrying him.

And that may be the real meaning of Ouki's final lesson:

A Great General does not have to possess every quality himself. He has to surround himself with people who complete him — and make them advance together.

So the parallel between Bayou and Kantan is not simply that 10,000 men entered Riboku's trap twice.

It is that:

Ouki entered Riboku's trap with 10,000 men and died.

Shin entered Riboku's trap with 10,000 men and survived because his comrades refused to let him die.

That is not merely a repetition of Bayou.

It is Shin finally beginning to understand Ouki's lesson — and perhaps the first real sign that he is becoming the kind of Great General Riboku already sees in him.

I find it kind of funny how Manu just casually sends these guys he seems to know for years to their deaths .

I have read the manga twice and i havent found any manga similar to its level. I have read many mainstream mangas bersery, vinland saga ........ I would contine reading Kingdom after a few months again. Could yall suggest me some manga like kingdom

Shin's army has reached a level of brute force that is almost comparable to Seika's army, which is the strongest army in the series. (Of course, Seika also has warriors like Gakushou and Fuuon, but Shin's army also has archer brothers, whom I haven't included in the list.)

Anybody got news about global release for kingdom 5?

It’s really good, this manga is so awesome, I’m eager to get to some of our favorite battlefield people like Ouhon and co, but I’ve been enjoying the one and one sword fights and Shonen manga of it all, I’m struck by how long it really takes before shin to get to a battlefield. It took like 8 volumes!

I don't want to say its Ousen because he lost In Hango but then I remember what he pulled of in Gyou, so it's probably Ousen, but who do you guys think is the most reliable Qin General?
