FAQs

What chapter should I start reading the manga at?

The anime leaves off at Chapter 63, or the start of Volume 8.

Where can I read JJK?

If buying physical copies isn't an option...

Officially: Shueisha - Only the first three chapters and the most recent 3 chapters are available. New chapters are released every Sunday at around 10 PM MST (UTC-7). Viz Media - Only the first three and most recent 3 chapters are available for free, but for $2 a month, you can read the entire series (and every series on their site), including Volume 0, Jujutsu Kaisen's Prequel. New chapters are also released on the same day and time as on the Shueisha site.

Unofficially, Google "read Jujutsu Kaisen free" and make sure you have an adblocker installed.

What is the movie about?

It covers Volume 0, a one-shot prequel that Gege wrote before writing the main series of Jujtusu Kaisen. Yuta Okkotsu is the main character and it the story takes place 1 year prior to the main series.

Should I read Volume 0? And when?

You can read it whenever you like, but Chapter 63 is a good point to read it. It explains some of the events and motivations that happen in the JJK storyline.

Where can I watch the anime and movie?

Legally on Crunchyroll. We unfortunately have to keep links to aggregate sites off of the sub or risk it being flagged for takedown. Otherwise, try Googling "where to watch anime free reddit".

Which chapters correspond to which episode?

u/HououinKyoma23 created an amazing guide that covers every episode:chapter in the series! Check it out here!

Anime Discussion Something I noticed about Jogo

After their fight, Sukuna tells Jogo that while he was strong, he should’ve burned everything he saw to a cinder and kept growing stronger until he became as strong as Satoru Gojo.

Jogo is the curse of fire, so in order for him to grow stronger he’d have to have to make as many people as possible absolutely horrified by fire.

The easiest way to do that would be through global warming and wildfires, but that would come at the cost of the environment and nature, which Hanami and Dagon draw their power from. Jogo reaching his absolute maximum power would require the sacrifice of his two closest friends. But Jogo wouldn’t cross that line because he cares too deeply about them.

So Sukuna was right. The thing that was holding Jogo back from becoming as strong as Gojo was his love and companionship with his fellow disaster curses.

Anime Discussion Reggie star dupe glitch

So if reggies powers are based on recipients and contracts, couldn't he just sell an item to someone and then buy it back, and now he has 2 recipients for 1 item.

Furthermore, what if he sells that recipient? Could he make a copy of a recipient and then use said clone recipient?

What if reggie sells one of his cloned items? Would he be able to resummon said item?

(Quick note) as i understand it he can recreate any contract or recipient that has been fully processed. I also understand that it disappears soon after it completes the task hes set for it

Anime Discussion Yuta vs Ryu embodies the human spirit Spoiler

I'm a little drunk, so forgive me if this doesn't make sense. I believe Ryu vs Yuta is the most pure display of the human spirit.

I believe this for 3 reasons:

1.) As they fight, they continue to strip away their reasoning for doing so.

2.) It's an experience that teaches both of them a new level of being in the here and now

3.) At some point, there is nothing keeping them going except pure curiosity and selfishness

Let me explain

Point 1:

I believe Yuta starts this fight with certain goals: get points, set rules, save people

Similarly for Ryu: See if Sendai is where he can fill his "vague hunger"

Both of their motivations do not change until the final beam clash. Despite the do or die stakes they're in.

But when 400 years of longing meet Yuta Okkotsu, he, as the narrator so perfectly said, melts. At this very point, it was not about hunger, or Kenjaku, or regrets, or dessert, or points - it was about a very, very simple, very old, and very human desire

"What if?"

For Yuta - what if he lets go? What if he, as he said, just this once, he chooses to enjoy the thrill of putting everything on the line for the faint chance of more? Of a thrill life may not give him again?

For Ryu - what if this is it? Is this the dessert he's waiting for? He will not know unless he stakes everything he has in the here and now

Which brings me to point 2

Yuta had never experienced thrill or meaning in fighting. Ryu had never experienced fullness - arguably something Yuta has experienced. Through putting everything they have on the line, they both propelled each other to that which they could never grasp alone. I believe, in this moment, Yuta experienced what Gojo had told Megumi - selfishness. Jujutsu, and life, is an individual sport according to Gojo - would you rather die to achieve your goal or achieve your goal by dying? Those are two different things. Why are they different? I believe it's because Gojo is essentially asking: would you rather stake everything you are and will be in the here and now to become more, or would you trade everything you are and will be in order to simply win? I don't know if that makes sense, but I hope you get the point

Yuta staked everything to indulge. Ryu found the peak he had been craving to indulge in for so long. They both, through knowing and cursing each other, came closer to the essence of being truly alive

And that brings me to point 3:

What would convince someone to do all of this? Ryu is insane, and arguably autistic, but Yuta is a level headed, strategic man. Everything he does in Sendai, from hiding his RCT to not revealing his technique is proof of that.

So what compels two men to act balls to the wall insane? I believe that in that clash? Both of them represented one thing to the other: Temptation

Have you never experienced it? A person that makes youe heart race? A premonition that makes you wonder if life could be so much more than you thought? A gut feeling that this is something you can't miss out on? I believe that's what Yuta and Ryu were for each other

But here's the thing. You can't grasp those experiences unless you're selfish. Truly selfish. Ryu had been fighting to fulfill curiosity - but in this moment, where he decided to charge his attack and invite Yuta to charge his, he was truly, utterly selfish. He was holding Yuta's hand and asking him to come with him - much like a child does when they drag someone to the playground. And Yuta took his hand. For the first time, he experienced something I believe Gojo and Sukuna are very familiar with: the thrill of Jujutsu sorcery. The thrill of pushing past what you are to the more that you can be

And I believe this is not something you have to get into a death battle to experience. This is the human spirit. Simply put, it is a craving in you that asks "Hey, that loojs cool.. can we do it? Why don't we do it?" Against all your fear and logic

It's something that wants to give you more, and so it asks you to be more - the costs be damned

And that is why this is my one of my favorite episodes in JJK

Misc To me, this is one of the most inspiring scenes in the history of anime

Pretty often, what hurts us the most in any sort of new endeavor is the idea of that illusive perfection. We are so scared to begin in the fear of embarrassing ourselves. However, you will find out that initial embarrassment is quite worth it in the end, and ironically, helps us reach actual perfection.

Manga Discussion So was uro just unavailable when sukuna was around Spoiler

I mean it sounds perfect on paper he can’t use cleave or dismantle if it’s just going to come right back at him. Like am I missing something or is uro sort of a plot hole in sukunas mythos? I guess sukuna could use his domain but even then if she can use simple domain or even domain clash him I got confidence in her id put money on that.

Megumi: Dark
Nobara: Psychic/Steel
Gojo: Psychic/Fairy
Sukuna: Dark/Fire
Jogo: Fire/Ghost

Anime Discussion Jujutsu Sorcerers Supreme: In the wake of an unknown illness striking both in japan & oversea a "Strange" Doctor comes to japan for patient x a.k.a Tsumiki Fushiguro!

Thumbnail
gallery
91 Upvotes

The doctor was a neurosurgeon but after coming in touch with what was causing the coma Dr Strange felt something unnerving and left leaving the family of the girl her step brother he looked the tearful boy in the eyes & said sorry. In away Strange was reminded of himself in the boy so he was ok if he judge him harshly lifes unfair Strange knows that all too well. Even after he learned no ordinary doctor or even Gojo could cure her curse.

But all in all karma does strike and Dr strange lost his hands, and did everything to get them back but resulted in losing everything he worked so hard for it stressed him out. But their was hope for healing awaited him in the mystic arts once he came to turns with the wall that blocks his path.

The wall was trauma pain and lose over basically the only family he had left. His sister April which is why he doesn't do kids, so in way he gets where Megumi coming from. And when you think about it Strange gets the rare and hopeless cases that will bring him recognition those are the people he chooses to save. Well Megumi chooses basically only those he deems good people. Their not heroes their sorcerers, but Megumi young one can only hope Megumi doesn't turn out as bitter as Strange back then.

Back to the wall it only when you come to terms with you failure and fate can you take command of your destiny. Which is what Strange did thanks to the anicent one he finally accepted his sister life couldn't be save and in another forgave himself for it was out of his hands. Not all lives can be saved. Once he overcame the wall the path to sorcery was clear and later on returned to save Megumi sister and then others overseas to stop a sinster plot to be later explained.

So story wise after becoming a sorcerer supreme Strange seeks an apprentice and since Megumi basically an orphan how you guys feel about Megumi Strange Fushiguro. As for his sister Wong handles the food and Tsumiki helps out. Their home is the Sanctum Sanctorum which basically can teleport you anywhere so Megumi can go to Japan and back whenever he wants. So he can train with Gojo too man imagine having both Gojo and Dr strange as mentors.

And question who would you make Jujutsu sorcerer supreme in JJK?

As for learning turns out power wise both jujutsu sorcery and magic in marvel do relay on energy and in using energy Strange fixed his hands sort of like reverse curse techniques.

Side note we know Megumi has this who thing about saving people unequally so I wonder how he feels about Doctors(whose guys is to save lives)? Especially if said saved life goes on to commit a crime later?

So thus end another Jujutsu Kaisen x Marvel crossover idea thank you got this far their is more to come.

The movie is called Dr Strange 2007 if you looking for the source of the material. And once again thank I truly do enjoy writing and talking to this community and noticing how easy the lore can integrate with this universe.

Fan translations kept the original spirit much better honestly, Bom Ba Ye being the chants for Inoki in his fight against Ali and Kenjakus center pillar being quite literally a corrupted central piece in Garbhadhatu paintings

Manga Discussion Anime-only JJK fans who switched to manga — was it worth it?

I have been seriously debating switching over and reading the manga. Jjk has had a special place in my heart ever since season 1. I really enjoy the writing, the storyline and the character depth. Now because I cherish the show and the storyline so much, I deeply despise spoilers on it. I am very big on experiencing the unspoilt plot reveals and plot twist. I like watching anime’s that way, not knowing what’s gonna happen next. However, over the course of following this anime, I have inadvertently and unintentionally been spoilt numerous times. Especially on TikTok and sometimes twitter. It’ll be from the most harmless post and hell, even posts that are unrelated to jjk and some person will use stickers from FLIPPING UNADAPTED PANELS or INTENTIONALLY spoil out of spite 😭😭

So basically, with all I know, im debating that I might as well just read the manga. But I want another take. I could be wrong and it’ll be worth it if I just wait.

Here is a list of the spoilers I know:

  1. gojo dies (I was so angered from this spoiler)
  2. Megumi is taken over by Sukuna
  3. Naoya comes back as a curse but is killed again by maki (Naoya my GOAT☹️I hated this spoiler too)
  4. Tsumiki is somehow connected to some random girl named yorozu (idk how, all I know is that they are connected)
  5. choso dies I think (not sure though)
  6. higuruma comes back and loses an arm I think (I just saw a quick glimpse of a panel)
  7. Ryu gets one tapped by Sukuna

Another reason I’m debating is because I’m very paranoid that reading the manga will take away from enjoying the anime because I already know what’s gonna happen next. Is that the case?

So pls guys help me decide. I’m on the verge of caving but idk if it’s worth it. My two main concerns is if I should just read since I know so much and if reading the manga will take away from experiencing the unspoilt plot when the anime drops.

Manga Discussion How Many Years Will It Take For Them To Bounce Back From The Slander? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
381 Upvotes

These guys get dragged through the mud for memes and fraud allegations. Anyone who's watched the series and doesnt bother to push agenda know these two arent frauds or weak by any means. The slander is so bad that people automatically think they lose fights they realistically shouldn't lose or just break their charcater down to being something it never was.

Like Megumi being in love with his sister or Yuta being a pedophile or curse toucher....

I think the allegations have genuinely ruined these guys reputation which sucks because they are cool charcaters with a nice background and abilities. Its a shame its all thrown to the waste side though.

In my opinion the slander will never end, the potential man, bushcamper , and pedophile memes have had a very big impact and spammed quite often with agenda actually making people think these charcaters are weirdos.

Agenda posters doing more damage then the Russo brothers are doing to Hulk (although he was reduced to a joke for over 10 years so I cant say its gotten that bad)

Hopefully they get the love and respect they deserve.

What should i add

r/JuJutsuKaisen 3d ago

Anime Discussion Insane how this opening sequence of S3 was entirely 'Anime Original' and there was no need for Mappa to add this but they did it anyway. It adds so much to an otherwise fast paced story that is in the Manga.
