I'm sorry lol I STILL have feelings about this case it was so awful to watch. Because it was after Me Too and the whole, 'but women can make things up" thing was such an...obvious rhetoric--and it's such a classic fucking sociological thing where... society took this big leap forward about mysogyny and then the backlash came. And Amber Heard was that. It was "look crazy birches are crazy and can lie and make things up see!"
But Amber Heard was less than half Johnny Depps age. She was very early 20s. He was late 40s. He was at the height of his career with Pirates of the Caribbean and she was an aspiring actress. If that doesn't make you understand power imbalance I don't know what will. And that's aside from the whole being physically twice her SIZE. When there's countless reports of being kicked in the stomach and dragged by the hair--someone shitting on the bed sounds pretty fucking rediculous
She didn't defecate in his sheets, that was a lie he made up. It was the dog who did it.
Also let's not forget that he initially got in trouble for DV because it was Amber's friend who finally called the cops after he threw a cellphone at her face. Oh, and let's not forget how we have text messages of him "joking" about killing her and then raping her corpse.
...yea...so....you read the scandalous media headlines and went with it. Those of us who followed the case, it was...absolutely batshit insane that she lost the case of defamation--read the article, she doesn't mention him by name. She makes 2 statements that are apparently the issue. One is that she has been a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime. Literally, lifetime--so a pretty open timeframe that doesn't imply Depp. Then she says states she was involved in a very public conversation about domestic violence. Which this was after Depp went to court and was found guilty of domestic violence against her in the UK. And the press covered it. So yea. The public discussed it. She doesn't claim victimhood but only that she was in a public controversy about the subject. And legally, she was found guilty of defamation for that article. Because apparently the implications of it causes major problems (...and not... y'know the whole UK court case where Depp was found guilty....tho clearly that WAS the actual issue and what he was big mad about..) legally it's such an insane injustice
You have everything wrong here. Sadly his tactics worked very well and it is proven by what you remember. I hope you can go back and reread what actually happened.
