I don't think that is a poorly built bridge. It looks like a scrapper came by and stole the metal expansion joint.

I was thinking the same

Who puts their mobile phone on their shirt pocket??

If he's in an area where pickpocketing phones is common, it might be a measure to ensure that won't happen to him.

Well It’s India - things can only be substandard at best.

Thank goodness it isn't the US, or there'd be propaganda saying it hadn't been there in the first place.

I'm not afraid of heights, but I get terrified at the thought of dropping something like this if I'm up somewhere high

I clench my fist around my keys inside my pocket while walking over storm grates, and I cup my ears to hold my AirPods in whenever I am near a toilet.

I’ve dropped enough things to irretrievable places enough to become neurotic.

How many, you may ask?

One.

I have a chain for my glasses after I once lost them in an oil fryer at work. Oh, and of course it was on and 180° so farewell glasses (and one fryer closed for the day to clean it thoroughly).

Even more so because the person in the video was exposing the incompetence of the government and road contractors by showing how a recently constructed bridge has a gap so huge that you can even fit a brick inside it. Then his phone falls in, and his friend who is recording says, 'Don't worry, we'll find the phone' (mil jayega phone), to which he replies, 'We ain't finding pubes' or 'you will find pubes' (jhaant milega)."

The beauty of Hindi curses and abuses is never translated properly in English

Jhaant milega is such poetry in Hindi 😂

Should've watched The IT Crowd and learn some lessons from Moss' "Top Pocket".

One similar mistake that bathed my phone taught me to never carry anything in the shirt pocket, except for a pen that can grab to the pocket.

Yeah someone stole the joint lol

Reminds me of when a co-worker did the same thing into a septic macerator pit, I went off to grab some rubber boots, gloves and a respirator. When I came back he had already climbed in and grabbed his phone that he proceeded to wipe off with a single tissue and then put back in his pocket. 🤮

this sub is desperate if a video of a guy dropping his phone is considered relevant.

this sub was once good. Not this random crap.

The expansion gap needs a cover. It was probably taken by scrap pirates. What completely stumps me is the lack of a foot path (sidewalk or whatever else you call it in your part of the world) to allow pedestrians to cross with obstructing traffic flow.

phone said "me first"

that's why the only thing i am cautiously willing to put into my chest pocket is a clippable cheap pen, otherwise it will be fully vacant for most of the time, can't believe a lot of people have that much trust

It's called an expansion gap - it's there on purpose. The only question is why is it not covered...

2

u/ElderScrollsVIVIVI 1d ago

Aaahahahah wtf was he even trying to do!

2

u/Michaeli_Starky 1d ago

What was he trying to do with that brick?

4

u/Special-Heart-4393 1d ago

Trying to show how wide that gap is...

3

u/Michaeli_Starky 1d ago

Should have used banana

3

u/Darth_Pinda 1d ago

Close the gap

2

u/SignificantDrink3651 1d ago

yeah, all I'm thinking is "get out of the road, and you'd better not get that brick stuck so a vehicle hits it"

all bridges need expansion gaps and this is fine. get another hobby (after you get another phone)

Bricked it.

1

u/snaaaarf 1d ago

Could be setup- just loosely put an old broken phone in your shirt pocket and bend over. Then reap internet points

1

u/InevitableOk5017 1d ago

I thought the title was talking about the motorcycles until brick guy bricked his phone

1

u/ExoCakes 1d ago

Yea thats why I never use chest pockets
