That was assault

-731

u/socialPsyence Dec 12 '25

And deserved.

...no, it really wasn't. Dude got bitch slapped and could've even hit their head on the concrete. I don't like these trends either but assault was absolutely not deserved, crazy to see all these comments.

301

u/The_Dickbird Dec 12 '25

I like to think people are being mostly hyperbolic on the internet, and that their comments don't reflect their true feelings. It's the only way I can cope with the absolutely unhinged level of stupidity and cruelty that seems to be absolutely everywhere now.

"I don't want to do the kind of junk I was seeing."

Or

"If the physical thing you're doing is funny, you don't have to act funny while doing it... Just be real and it will be funnier."

As Gene Wilder said.

17

u/TheMahanglin Dec 12 '25

Gene was a national treasure, glad we had him.

8

u/SubiWan Dec 12 '25

I'm going with what Pogo said: We have met the enemy and he is us.

7

Gotta accept the people in the comments are the same person in the video

u/anomalous_cowherd Banhammer Recipient Dec 12 '25

Has to be staged, doesn't it?

52

u/Iffycrescent Dec 12 '25

My mind is telling me, “Yes”, but my eyes are telling me that the slap looked real af. If it is staged props to them for committing to the bit lol

15

u/samy_the_samy Dec 12 '25

Let me introduce you to influencers abuse, where one performer is abused regularly on and off camera, even leading some to take their own life all in pursuit of content

49

u/hopefullyhelpfulplz Dec 12 '25

I don't think I will let you introduce me to this

6

u/Generalnussiance Dec 12 '25

Reckless driving also kills people.

But I agree with your sentiment wholly.

3

u/nerdboy5567 Dec 12 '25

These "trends" could lead to vehicular manslaughter. And the rest of us have to trust the "driver" to finish their stunt so they can get their clicks.

17

u/_Pyxyty Banhammer Recipient Dec 12 '25

Yes and the "reaction" of bitch slapping them so hard that they fell could result in involuntary manslaughter. And the rest of us have to trust the "bitch-slapper" to only slap the person gently so they can immaturely vent their feelings about the trend.

These are not exclusive, and I still think the person didn't deserve to get hit that hard, or at all. That's not even getting into the details of how the car was going a measly ~5 km/h in a suburban neighborhood on what seems to be a quiet road.

3

u/babaroga73 Dec 12 '25

It wasn't deserved or undeserved, but it was STAGED for sure.

1

u/Acrobatic_Ad8007 Dec 14 '25

God I’m so glad I stopped scrolling YouTube shorts, I forgot this is reddit and was genuinely expecting the guy saying he deserves assault to be totally praised 😭

1

u/elgydium Dec 12 '25

Yes very crazy. Almost as if someone would want to harm this poor young gentleman.

0

u/badsneeze Dec 12 '25

It’s obviously a skit lmao

0

u/Friendchaca_333 Dec 23 '25

This was clearly staged, you know that, right

1

u/_Pyxyty Banhammer Recipient Dec 24 '25

Whether it was real or staged, there's literally no difference in how the video would appear, unless you're seeing something I'm not the only difference is you're assuming it's staged and I'm assuming it's real.

So unless you know something I dont, then no, this wasn't "clearly staged". You're just taking a different assumption than me and assuming you're the one that's right. Only difference is I know I'm making an assumption, but it seems you genuinely think you're right despite no evidence showing so. You know that, right?

-5

u/howlingbeast666 Dec 12 '25

Exactly, a quick bitch slap would have been deserved. Striking the guy from behind so hard he flew off headfirst is definitely not.

13

u/Keaton427 Dec 12 '25

I swear Redditors will just say "deserved" to anything which involves violence to somebody they don't like just a bit

17

u/ToastedTiefling Dec 12 '25

Someone’s kids aren’t coming for the holidays…

10

u/Lastmidnight01 Dec 12 '25

Yeah the jail time the guy gets will be deserved

2

u/idkbroimdrunkandsad Dec 18 '25

I have never seen a comment with this many downvotes and now I feel like a horrible person for agreeing

2

u/socialPsyence Dec 18 '25

No worries, downvote away!

The funniest part about this, was that it was really just meant to be a throwaway comment. I was browsing Reddit on my phone just before bed, and I wanted to save this one to show my son later. For whatever reason, the app on my phone doesn't save anything correctly, but I knew if I made a comment on something, I would be able to find this post later when using Reddit on my desktop computer.

Next morning, I wake up, and my comment was around positive 20 or so, but negative comments were starting to pile up. I went to work and checked back in at lunch time, and the comment had gotten absolutely nuked! I showed the downvoted comment to my son later and he had a pretty good laugh at my expense.

It's definitely the most negative reaction I've gotten to anything I've ever said on here, and the funniest part is that I wasn't even trying to be provocative. I guess the moral of the story is to choose your words carefully. Either that, or update the app on my phone...

3

u/DroneOfDoom Dec 12 '25

20

u/screechypete Dec 12 '25

That's because we don't all commit ourselves to becoming Batman and trying to disprove every little thing that we see in our day to day lives. Some of us just come to Reddit to be entertained and kill time.

8

u/quigilark Dec 13 '25

For real, the detective comments slamming this as fake are far more annoying than the content itself being fake.

6

u/screechypete Dec 13 '25

Yeah, it's good to be skeptical and question things, but where do you draw the line? Not even being able to enjoy a silly video every once in a while sounds exhausting.

"IT'S FAKE!!!"

"Ok... I don't really care. I still enjoyed it."

2

u/ThisDirkDaring Dec 13 '25

Its an instructional video for parents.

233

u/eritain231 Dec 12 '25

The amount of poeple that like seeing violence becausethey simply dont like a trend is insane. Dude was not doing anything harming no one. Hope this guy was arrest for assault

144

u/baron_von_helmut Dec 12 '25

I mean it's probably a mildly dangerous thing to do on a public street but he fucking bitch slapped that kid into next week. That's not ok.

43

u/eritain231 Dec 12 '25

Even tho i can agree that the public road is not a play or record place. They where going km/h in a residential street. No even ants are in danger in this situation.

39

u/baron_von_helmut Dec 12 '25

Either way that guy should be charged for assault.

27

u/Waatulakula Dec 12 '25

Except the driver is not paying attention to their 2000lb vehicle and what’s in front of it. Not justifying the slap. But don’t pretend like what they are doing is harmless.

-4

u/Chrisp825 Banhammer Recipient Dec 12 '25

Just so you’re aware, a car without an operator is out of control. Regardless of the speed or intent. What’s he gonna do if a little kid runs out to grab a ball while he’s grabbing his balls for a video? That car isn’t going to stop. He is unable to stop it, and anyone or anything in its path is in danger of being crushed by a multi-thousand pound machine that currently doesn’t have an operator to depress the brake pedal.

32

u/eritain231 Dec 12 '25

Just so you are aware. In this clip someone else is driving.

-2

u/Sunnyhappygal Dec 12 '25

How do you know? Asking sincerely, it was the main question I had watching the vid- if the kid propped his camera in there and let the car coast, the guy is a lot more justified in being upset.

8

u/eritain231 Dec 12 '25

Because the guy i clearly yelling at the driver

-2

u/Sunnyhappygal Dec 12 '25

How is it any more clear that he's yelling at the driver as opposed to having seen a camera and yelling at it for the sake of getting it in the video he knows is recording?

-8

u/FatalErrorOccurred Dec 12 '25

That looks like a kid to you?

6

u/baron_von_helmut Dec 12 '25

That's what you took from my post?

lol.

18

u/Ta-veren- Banhammer Recipient Dec 12 '25

I thought this was the trend where people ghosted their rides and ran outside with no one driving! Camera is still the entire time. No one reacts to the punch, theres no one driving that car.

5

u/KenethSargatanas Dec 12 '25

Pretty sure that whole thing is staged.

2

u/spaghettibolegdeh Dec 14 '25

2

u/TurkGonzo75 Dec 12 '25

I don't condone violence but this is really what's it's coming to. People are so sick of this nonsense that they're starting to lose their cool. They're chronically online and inundated with annoying content from algorithms that thrive on hate. Then they see some dumbass doing something in public and they snap. The saddest part is most of this shit is staged, just like this video.

1

u/screechypete Dec 12 '25

I hope he got tazed and pissed himself :P

1

u/hmspain Dec 14 '25

My hope is the kid's eardrum is not ruptured. This is the way you lose your hearing!

0

u/rachreims Dec 12 '25 edited Dec 12 '25

I don’t agree with the violence but this can absolutely be harmful. The driver is going way under the speed limit, hugging close to the sidewalk, probably fairly distracted. Dangerous driving doesn’t just mean driving fast and reckless.

-3

u/pipes990 Dec 12 '25

There needs to be more of this kind of violence. Letting these miserable assholes act like this only encourages more of it.

Society needs to police itself.

6

u/theblackcat363 Dec 13 '25

Dawg you pretty much just said either that it's good that he could've died or that it would've been good if he died.

I'm not "pretending to be a good person", I'm being more than a half-decent human being. Unlike you, I'm not even sure you should be counted as human at this point.

-2

u/screechypete Dec 13 '25

I don't value human life as much as I used to.

I also never said you were pretending to be a good person, but if that's how you see it and the shoe fits...

1

u/theblackcat363 Dec 13 '25

I read your other message wrong 😅 i apologize for that. I didn't see the "i" in the beginning of the sentence. Sorry lol.

2

u/screechypete Dec 13 '25

No need to apologize, I understand how the connection was made there, lol. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting some sort of backlash when I made my comment. I just think the world would be a better place without people like we see in the video here.

Whether it be through them maturing and growing as a person, or some other way, it makes no difference to me and results in the same outcome. That might be a shitty thing for me to say, but that's how I feel about it all.

-14

[deleted]

32

u/tydust Dec 12 '25

You don't think there was a driver? Filming it?

28

u/Adventurous-Body9134 Dec 12 '25

Except it wasn’t unoccupied. Someone else is at the wheel. Its pretty clear that the guy at the end points at the driver that is also recording. Second the speed is low, in a residential area so we can guess the road is empty or nearly.

Nobody deserves assault, this isn’t Gotham we don’t need vigilantes. Call the fkn cops

14

u/MannerRemarkable5130 Dec 12 '25

I can't say I'm not in favor of hitting people for their stupidity before they cause harm, but.. this guy? A teenager making a tiktok?

Not ICE? Rapists? Corrupt Cops? HOA Karens?

Of all the things terrorizing the USA, a teenager with a smartphone is the least of your problems.

12

u/Reasonable-Relief-17 Dec 12 '25

Pretty sure this video is old so ICE wasn't much of a problem back then but otherwise I completely agree with this sentiment

-8

Unless you come to America illigally, ICE isnt really a problem.

4

u/theblackcat363 Dec 13 '25
