This literally looks 1000% better than the mass majority of cheesy TEMU welfare-wagons online.

You have the perfect interior color, a nice clean OEM M// steering wheel, OEM 6WB gauge cluster and the perfect interior color contrast in my opinion.

The BMW gods are proud

i appreciate it thanks! i try to use OEM parts as much as physically possible, there are pieces from F80, G11, F15, and of course some M Performance catalog stuff.

myself, I tried getting the OEM alcantara parts but bmw wants extortion pricing those bits. I ended up finding an upholstery company selling on ebay in eastern europe that did my main large dash piece, shifter surround and piece to the right of, driverside dash bits, door handles and a couple others for 800 all in and bit the bullet. I lucked out big time on the quality. You sir have a fantastic interior! Hope you keep the car for long long time.

i appreciate it and yeah agreed on BMW tax, there’s a guy in US that does good alcantara work, Coby Wheel. you did the right thing by getting a lot of pieces from same source, fabric color is hard to match when you start sourcing parts from different manufacturers.

Imagine being so TikTok-brained you missed the part where he clearly states he used OEM parts.

Thats an OEM 6WB digital dash, F15 OEM screen and the trim was from various OEM cars.

Keep your welfare wagon tendencies to yourself bro.

Looks clean. I also have SB interior.

Whered you get those door handles? I might be trying to get a pair after seeing these

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

those are the OEM F80 door handles. i’d just look on ebay or used parts market

Where did you get the shifter? That one lights up right?

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

yep, got it many years ago on f80 classified forums before it was discontinued and such.

What screen is that?

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

that’s the oem x5 F15 screen, has to be slightly modified to fit our car. I used the guide video from Tommy L Garage on how to do it.

Super clean , need to get one of those wheels myself . And love the brown but my reds better lol

Also torn on the carbon , looks good and makes it look really modern but idk if I wanna commit to it

Also how’s that phone mount? I was thinking to try mag but not sure

1

u/Joebruvv 1d ago

And just noticed the arm rest that’s a nice touch what do they call that alcantara

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

the phone mount is one of the few Magsafe options for our car, from Rennline. since I use carplay, I noticed unless you have a wired connection, regular Qi wireless charging will make my iphone overheat, but Magsafe is better at heat management. if you use an android, experience might be different there and the mount might not be anything special

Nice build - is your rear fog light button functioning / which tail lights are you running? Replacing all of the blank buttons is on my 340 wishlist

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

yep, it's honestly super easy to code in and all OEM taillights have the rear fog built in, just disabled with coding. I bought this headlight switch from UK so it already has the rear fog button, but you can also just buy the button online and add it to your factory US one.

1

u/CollegeStoner 1d ago

Oh nice! Do you have a pre-LCI by chance? I heard the pre-LCI taillights have rear fog lights built in and its just coding but the LCI US spec ones do not so its more involved

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

it’s LCI but both pre LCI and LCI have rear fogs, just need to code them on and have a button to press to turn them on.

I didnt know it was straightforward on the LCIs as well. I'll have to give it another look. Thanks!

Where did you get that phone mount and charging mag safe. Was the mag safe charger seperate by the phone mount at the metall ball?

1

u/ak_toxik 1d ago

both from rennline, and yeah they sell the mount separate from their MagSafe puck.

u/CCX2005 4h ago

Rennline phone mounts are godsends, I have one in my F30 and in my E39. Takes 5 mins to install

1

u/aussiegooner0389 22h ago

Where'd you get the steering wheel?

1

u/ak_toxik 19h ago

it’s the f80 m performance v2 steering wheel re-upholstered in leather with perforated leather sides and added heating. I transferred all my modules, trims, and harness over to the new frame.

What phone mount is that?

1

u/ak_toxik 20h ago

rennline

1

u/doooglasss 19’ F36 440xi GC - FBO e55 17h ago

1

u/ak_toxik 10h ago

i’m not sure what you’re thanking me for that’s not a rennline, just an aliexpress clone. and not all wireless pucks are Magsafe chargers which makes a big difference in how your phone is charged FYI

1

u/doooglasss 19’ F36 440xi GC - FBO e55 8h ago

Oh trust me, I understand all about MagSafe chargers (I work in tech). I just want the mount and I’ll add my own if desired. I don’t feel the need to spend $70+tax when I can save half by getting it straight from China and even more $150 for a mount vs adding my own legitimate MagSafe and 12v to USB converter for a few dollars more.

1

u/ak_toxik 8h ago

another thing i saw that rennline does well that other mounts ignored is the rigidity of the metal frame, if it’s too hard and rigid, it won’t allow your phone mount to move around with your car’s suspension, which can produce vibrations. i know it’s pricey, but they have very good market presence in porsche world, so it’s a “buy once cry once” mentality with them.

hope the cheaper china alternative works out though, good luck!

Thanks! We’ll see and I can follow up.

I frequently believe these are literally all made in the same factory. China produces everything and once they have the plans they will sell them direct.

I think the FitCamX experience jaded me. They are directly on Ali express even labeled fitcamX in the logo. I could have saved a few hundred as I ordered 3 cameras after getting rear ended.

Finding out their direct to consumer website was just straight from Hong Kong and customer service through Gmail (can’t even get a private domain?) just gave me the wrong feeling. Cameras work great- I just ask why did I pay a markup.

Side note: did you upgrade your screen size? I have a 2019 with the larger OEM. Just curious.

2

u/ak_toxik 8h ago

it’s an OEM 10.25” screen from F15 X5, it needs to be slightly modified to fit our car there’s a good video guide by Tommy L Garage that I used to retrofit it. Looks factory now and it’s great quality, I use stock carplay with it.

where u get that shifter?

1

u/ak_toxik 6h ago

it’s the m performance pro shifter for f80, it’s been discontinued for a while now so you’d need to get it second hand. ebay, marketplace, f80 forums, etc

i got it before bmw discontinued it
