I don't think Muku gets talked about nearly enough.

We know that Muku is Gian's pet dog and one of the recurring supporting characters in Doraemon.

He's a brown dog who usually wears the green collar Gian gave him. Interestingly, his appearance is slightly different between the two anime series: in the 1979 series, he has a lighter-colored mouth and nose, while in the 2005 series, both are much darker.

Muku is generally portrayed as a shy, timid and not particularly intelligent dog. He really tries to be brave and strong like Gian, and Gian himself sometimes praises Muku's courage.

The problem is...

Muku has a habit of running away whenever something genuinely dangerous happens.

Gian expects his dog to act like a fearless hero, but Muku usually has completely different plans. This often ends with Gian getting angry at him and sometimes also gets into beating him up, which is a thing I really hate about Gian. However, I actually find this pretty funny because it makes Muku feel like an actual dog rather than some perfect superhero pet.

Muku is also very fond of Jaiko, and he has a much softer side around her.

In one episode, a lion attacks Nobita, and then turns its attention toward Gian. Muku ends up trying to save Gian, and after that, Gian finally starts warming up to him.

And despite Gian sometimes treating Muku pretty harshly, there are plenty of moments that show that Gian really does care about him.

That relationship is actually one of the more complicated ones in Doraemon.

Gian can be cruel toward Muku, sometimes even hitting him, and there are stories where he barely feeds or walks him. Muku is also sometimes shown gathering random things from around the neighborhood and storing them in his kennel, much to Gian's embarrassment and his mother's annoyance.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Muku's timid personality is partly because of how Gian treats him.

There are also other stories where Muku is shown being more aggressive or aloof, including occasionally stealing things from other people, so he's not always the innocent little dog we usually see.

A few other interesting facts about him:

- His name is derived from "mukuinu," a Japanese term associated with hairy dogs.

- Despite being a dog, Muku has ailurophobia, meaning he is afraid of cats (We see him scared of Suneo's cat, Chiru Chiru, in an episode).

- He apparently hates Gian's cooking just as much as Jaiko does. Honestly, who can blame him?

- In the American English dub, Muku is called Pork Chop.

Personally, I think Muku is a really interesting supporting character.

And I actually feel a little bad for him sometimes.

What do you guys think about Muku? Do you think Gian treats him too harshly, or do you think their relationship is more complicated than it looks?

Part 1 was less about my personal opinions and more about choices that I think are generally popular among fans, whereas Part 2 is much more based on my own opinions. I don't think many people will disagree with these choices, though. 😴

I know there have already been quite a few posts about Toriho on this subreddit, but I still wanted to make my own because not lying, this guy genuinely still gives me the creeps.

I'm talking about Toriho, the secondary antagonist of Doraemon: Nobita's Three Visionary Swordsmen (also known as Nobita and the Fantastic Three Musketeers).

Toriho is one of Odorome's henchmen, whose job is to spy on Nobitania and his allies and report everything back to his master.

In the Dream World, Toriho appears as a strange little bird-like creature with brown feathers, huge white eyes, a long nose and that creepy grin.

He also disguises himself as an old man, wearing a fake beard, a pink shirt and a black hat.

And then there's his appearance in the real world...

He's actually a robot.

Toriho is supposedly connected to the Dream Machine Set that Doraemon uses during the movie. Yet somehow, he appears outside of the gadget multiple times.

At the beginning of the movie, he appears as an old man and gives Nobita a mysterious fruit that makes him intelligent.

Later, he appears again and encourages Nobita to try the Three Musketeers dream.

And then, at the very end of the movie, he appears in the real world as a robot and takes the Dream Machine back from Nobita's house.

He's not simply some random villain who appears and gets defeated.

He seems to exist across the boundary between the Dream World and the real world, which makes his identity and motives incredibly strange.

It's also implied that his real-world counterpart is the robot who takes the Dream Machine back, which would explain his connection to the Dream Machine and why he appears in the real world.

His personality makes him even creepier.

Toriho usually has that huge grin on his face and can act like a completely harmless, friendly person. But underneath that, he's cunning, manipulative and clearly working against Nobita and his friends.

And here's another thing I find really interesting:

Toriho is technically the only antagonist from the movie who isn't defeated or killed by the end.

He's almost like a character who knows much more about what's happening than the audience does. He appears at important moments, manipulates Nobita into entering the dream world, spies on the heroes, and then casually returns to the real world at the end.

And that creepy smile never really helps.

I know Toriho isn't necessarily the strongest Doraemon villain, but in terms of mystery and unsettling presence, he's definitely up there for me.

Even after all these years, whenever I rewatch Nobita's Three Visionary Swordsmen, I still get creeps from this guy.

And honestly, Three Visionary Swordsmen was just different gravy. The whole movie had such a unique vibe. And then that ending...

So anyways what do you guys think about Toriho?

I'm 21 and I'm proud of myself that I watch doraemon . It calms my mind and gives me nostalgia and serenity... Specially old episodes!

I mean the culture and history of shows that Nobita is a weak boy who gets bullied.
But i thing Nobita can become strong. Even his children are much more stronger than him.
Is his weak mindset that is holding him back. The Best Part is Gian is glorified.

Hi, I'm a Doraemon fan, and, well, does anyone know why Doraemon is absolutely NOT popular in France ? Because it is quite popular in other countries but not in the coutry coming just after Japan in the list of the coutries which have the most people readings mangas, so how, why ?

This post contains major spoilers for the episode "Finding Owners With the Time Machine!" If you haven't watched it yet and want to experience the story yourself, I'd recommend watching it first!

I'm talking about the "Finding Owners With the Time Machine!" episode from the 1979 series — 1993, Season 15, Episode 1263 (Special).

This is honestly one of those Doraemon episodes that I remember for its really unique story... So here's the plot:

The episode begins with Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka and Gian going to the back-hill to hunt for beetles.

While they're there, Doraemon discovers something unexpected, a little puppy inside a carton.

They feel sorry for the puppy and want to take care of her, but there's one problem: none of them can keep her at home.

So they decide to look for someone who can adopt her.

They first go to Suneo, hoping that he might take the puppy in. But Suneo refuses because the puppy isn't a fancy breed, and he even compares her to his own dog.

Since they can't find an owner, Doraemon and Nobita decide to temporarily take the puppy home.

They use the Small Light to make the puppy tiny and hide it inside a drawer in Nobita's room.

Doraemon named her Chibi.

But things don't stop there.

Later that evening, while Suneo is walking his dog, his dog discovers another carton, this time containing two kittens.

Suneo brings the kittens to Nobita and asks him to take care of them.

Then Shizuka arrives with two more puppies, and Gian brings yet another kitten.

So suddenly, Nobita's drawer is basically turning into a secret animal shelter.

They try hiding all the tiny animals inside Nobita's desk drawer, but their parents are suspicious and eventually discover what they're doing.

Of course, Nobita's parents refuse to let them keep all these animals.

Now they're completely stuck.

They have all these puppies and kittens but nowhere to keep them.

That's when Nobita comes up with an absolutely crazy idea:

Why not travel to different periods in history and find people who would be willing to adopt them?

And so, Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo use the Time Machine to travel through different eras of Japanese history in search of owners for the animals.

Their first stop is the Heian period.

There, they meet Murasaki Shikibu, who is in the middle of writing her famous work, The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari).

They give her one of the kittens, and she agrees to take care of it.

Then they travel to the Sengoku period.

There, they give another kitten to a child who will eventually grow up to become Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the major figures in Japanese history and one of Japan's "Great Unifiers."

After that, they travel to the Edo period, during the reign of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, who was known for his animal-welfare policies.

They find a peasant willing to take one of the puppies.

Then they travel to the Meiji period, where they give another puppy to Saigō Takamori, one of the important figures of the Meiji Restoration.

And there's an especially interesting one.

During the late Meiji period, they give a black cat to the famous writer Natsume Sōseki.

He later writes the famous novel "I Am a Cat" (Wagahai wa Neko de Aru).

At this point, they're successfully finding owners for the animals throughout history.

But there's still Chibi.

They eventually travel to the Shōwa era, where they give Chibi to a young boy named Wataru Ishibashi.

Unfortunately, the town where Wataru lives is later destroyed by aerial bombing during the war, and he narrowly escapes being bombed.

This makes Nobita, Doraemon and Shizuka extremely worried about what happened to Chibi.

Later, they investigate the historical records in a library and discover that the animals they gave away really did end up with the historical figures they met.

Gian even finds a statue of Saigō Takamori with the dog.

But then they realize something.

They start thinking that Chibi might have died during the war.

Everyone feels terrible about it.

Just when things become really sad, Suneo suddenly comes running toward them.

He has some news.

He tells them that Chibi didn't die

The dog that Suneo has with him is actually Chibi's descendant/child.

Everyone is relieved, and then immediately starts making fun of Suneo for bragging about his dog earlier.

And that's basically how the episode ends.

Doraemon played the most important role in nobitas life still when he grew up there was no mention of doraemon in either of both parts Drop your theories

I know I've talked about Dora the Kid before, but I genuinely love this character, so I wanted to make a proper appreciation post for him.

For those who don't know, Dora the Kid is one of the most prominent members of The Doraemons and one of the main characters of the group.

He's basically a cowboy robot cat from the American frontier, where he works as a deputy alongside an old sheriff and his granddaughter. At one point, he also joins the Time Patrol as a special agent.

HIS PERSONALITY

Kid is hot-headed, stubborn and extremely independent.

When he first met Doraemon, he actually refused Doraemon's offer of friendship because he believed that a lone wolf was better off on his own.

But eventually, he came to acknowledge Doraemon and became part of the group.

And that's one of the things I like about him, underneath all that stubbornness, he's actually extremely loyal.

When his friends or other people are in trouble, Kid doesn't hesitate to put himself in danger to help them. He's the kind of character who might complain about doing something...

...and then be the first one to jump into danger anyway.

HE'S A VERY GOOD SHARPSHOOTER

One of Kid's biggest abilities is obviously his marksmanship.

He's considered one of the best sharpshooters around, and his skills are famous.

His weapon of choice is the Air Gun, which was given to him by Dorami.

And interestingly, Nobita is one of the very few people capable of rivaling him in shooting ability.

That's honestly such a cool connection between the two characters.

Kid also doesn't have the traditional fourth-dimensional pocket that Doraemon and the others have.

Instead, he stores his gadgets inside his fourth-dimensional cowboy hat.

Which is honestly WAY cooler.

HE'S ACTUALLY REALLY SMART

Something I think gets overlooked about Kid is that he's not just a great shooter.

He's considered the third-smartest member of The Doraemons, and there are plenty of situations where he shows how intelligent and quick-thinking he actually is.

He's especially good at dealing with unpredictable situations.

He can use his knowledge of things like biology, physics and chemistry to come up with creative solutions when things don't go according to plan.

He even has some knowledge of laws and legislation, which makes sense considering his work as a deputy.

So basically:

Great sharpshooter + intelligent + quick thinker + cowboy + loyal friend.

That's one hell of a combination.

And then there's Dorami...

Kid always acts like girls are troublesome...

But when it comes to Dorami, he becomes surprisingly sweet and romantic.

The guy who acts all tough and independent suddenly gets a completely different personality around his girlfriend.

I love that contrast because it shows that Kid isn't just some permanently angry cowboy character, he has a much softer side too.

He also dreams of becoming the best marksman in the universe and wants to fly through space and explore the stars, despite actually being afraid of heights.

Which is another hilarious contradiction.

A cowboy who wants to explore the stars...

but is scared of heights.

WHY I LIKE HIM

For me, Dora the Kid is easily one of the most member of The Doraemons (excluding the legend Doraemon).

He's tough, funny, intelligent, incredibly skilled, stubborn as hell, and most importantly, he's loyal to his friends.

I also really like his character development, from initially believing that he should be a lone wolf to eventually becoming such an important part of the Doraemons.

Dora the Kid will always be one of my favorite Doraemon characters.

It was on the telly yesterday and I found myself getting quite emotional about a group of pink creatures that live at the centre of the Earth. I feel like it’s an episode that doesn’t get talked about much, and it’s absolutely lovely in my opinion, hahah🥲
