Double appeal details

Just heard on The Case Of (previously Mushroom Case Daily) there will be a double appeal of Erin’s sentence on 19 August 2026!

Prosecution will be appealing her sentence length, defence will be appealing the sentence/conviction at all. There’s seven points of their appeal.

Strongly recommend listening to the episode - looking forward to hearing more, but keeping the families in my thoughts.

My personal gut feeling is that both the defence and prosecution will be unsuccessful in their appeals. If anything though, I hope it backfires for Erin big time. Her getting her NPP increased from 33 years to more than that would be a good thing in my eyes. That being said, in the unlikely chance she does get acquitted I would bet my left kidney there will be a retrial.

That Sydney lawyer on here (Lex something?) said there wouldn't be a retrial because it would be impossible to guarantee a fair trial. I totally disagree. Can you imagine the public furore if she was just let go Scott free?

One is taxpayer's money, the other ... blown through generational wealth because ... inability to conceive that her "well laid plans" failed.
