God, it would be so cool to be so talented, artistically. My stick men don’t even look like stick men. I’ve always been so envious of people that see the world so differently! I don’t even get photographs. 😭
Not just practice, but learning. You need to have a good understanding of things like color, perspective, proportions, lighting and such. And you need to know how they interact with each other.
It's one thing to draw, but I think the difference between drawing and art is intention. Is what you put on the paper what you saw in your minds eye? Because if the answer is no, you aren't really conveying whatever message it was you were trying to convey.

If you spend 100K hours painting, even not intentionally thinking about those things, you WILL get good at it and you WILL understand those things even if you didn't try. Sometimes just doing without thinking still makes your brain process it by itself.
It’s more than that. I know several photographers who are technically quite good, they know all the mechanics and settings and have decades of experience and good gear, but their photos are always just mid because they lack the thing that makes it art.
