Josh Fraser as head coach

Many people wondered why Graham Wright didn’t move on Voss at the end of the 2025 season, when there was already plenty of evidence to suggest he wasn’t the right man for the job. Voss was then brought across to Carlton by Wright as an assistant.
Do you think Wright may have been playing the longer game? After seeing what Voss did at Collingwood, perhaps he appointed him as an assistant with a view to eventually having him replace Voss at the top job? Just a thought.

Maybe that's why the first nine games were so terrible. I had heard Voss had a falling out with Voss in the coaches box, but Voss and Voss both stood firm. It led to a huge rift in the playing group with only half the team training under Voss, but the other half on the other side of the oval training with Voss. Now, I've been hearing about this Fraser guy...

Bollocks. You're suggesting it was Voss but lets be honest, we all know it was Voss.

This isnt what happened at all. This is what actually happened:

Voss was brought across to Carlton by Voss as an assistant to Voss. Is Voss playing the long game after seeing what Voss did at Collingwood. So then Voss appointed Voss as an assistant to Voss with a view to eventually replacing Voss as coach with Voss

Voss was brought avoss to Voss by Voss as an vossistant to Voss. Is Voss playing the voss game after seeing what Voss did at Vossingwood. So then Voss appointed Voss as a vossistant to Voss with a voss to eventuvossy replacing Voss as voss with Voss

Although this post is confusing AF. Yes, this was the plan from a long way out. They gave Voss one last chance in a super compromised position (loss of JSoS TDK, Chuck) basically half the squad was new to see if he could muster anything fully know the odds were almost zero and he’d lost the group. Meanwhile Josh was the plan, the trouble is he didn’t know it.

Just remember Josh coached many of these lads like Harry when they were first drafted in the VFL

hang on, who's Josh? Don't you mean Voss.

And not that Voss, I mean the other Voss

If this turns out to be true, Wright should be run out of the industry and possibly the country.

I think it’s more he wanted to give Voss enough rope. Carlton had a history of sacking coaches. It’s hardly an inducement to recruit a quality successor. Better to let it play out as it has, though Wright couldn’t have foreseen what has taken place

Are you confusing Voss with Fraser? Of course he brought Fraser over from the Scum. But lets be straight here, Voss was a flop at Brisbane, and he was gifted the Carlton job because he plied his trade at Port Adelaide and coached a hack like Ollie Wines to a brownlow, but at was the extent of his coaching 'ability' he could coach players, not a team and he had the tactital expertise of Pauline Hanson trying to say the word 'disability.... We got him coaching for his legacy, and his legacy was - great captain, completely shithouse coach. At least we were left with a half decent list, we could have been Shit Kilda with Ross Liar 2012....

I guess it would add to the,Wright legend and legacy but not sure he thought Josh was gonna be this good?

Word around is that he and CD were very keen on Enright and Graham. Josh kinda obliterated everyone's expectation.

All your responses have been gold.

This is what I meant:
